Not sure what to grab. The 900 can be had for about the same price as the 620 on ebay although they always say gsm unlocked, I assume all 3g bands are also available?
Any other recommendations around that price. I could stretch the budget a little. Although any cheap windows phone will feel like a million dollars compared to my lg p500.

The 620 has an sd card slot where the 8s doesn't.

It has been getting some really positive reviews and plenty are favouring it over the HTC phone.

I'm picking mine up tomorrow :)

Nokia Lumina 620 all the way. Buy it from parallelimported.co.nz or expansys.co.nz

Check out engadget's review of it which was released today. Best cheapest smartphone there is according to them. Also has NFC built in AFAIK.

According to the HTC website the 8s does have a card slot but has less internal memory, however the 8s would be my pick if the budget can stretch, bigger screen local availability and support cga , as said above get the telecom version as it is quad band giving you the ability to chop and change networks as you please.

Nokia Lumia 620 has built in NFC, Clear Black Display screen, various colourful removable cases, more storage than 8S, removable battery, $50 cheaper than 8S, Nokia Drive which isn't available for HTC or Samsung WP8 devices yet in NZ.

Three reviews were released today for Nokia Lumia 620. Cnet and Pocket-lint both gave it 4.5/5 and Engadget says it's the best entry level smartphone available that is on par with performance of running apps and OS in comparison to the Nokia Lumia 920.

HTC 8S feels great in the hand but it does not have a micro sd card slot.

Expansys $359. There are deals on ebay that are worth about same with 8gb sd card but I figured I would stick with the recommended.

Sorry but yes you are correct. It does have a micro sd card slot. I got to play with a unit for a week from Gen-I. Never noticed the micro-sd card slot in it though so assumed it did not have one.

Telecom NZ has even made an YouTube video regarding this.

I think its just a mix up with the app space issue.I read apps can only be run off internal memory, is that right? So that model doesnt actually have much space?
