I recently bought a PPC 5050 from Bell Canada with the X1 data plan.

Right now, I am trying to connect my laptop to the PPC 5050 through an IrDA connection to access the Internet.

The manual of the PPC states how to do it (using the wmodem program), but it has obviously not been written with Windows XP in mind, and I don't seem to be able to make it work.

I know the connection works, because I am able to transfer files from the laptop to the PPC 5050 through the IrDA connection.

Any help is welcome!

Thank you.

This was discussed a couple of weeks ago here on Geekzone. It's possible to do this, but you need a driver. Look at this thread for more instructions. Pay special attention to Jama's post.
