Looking for help.
I have a iPAQ 2215 and a Motorola V400 with a Motorola DC600 bluetooth add on. I can browse the web on the V400. I can get email, send and receive. I am using the Cingular and MMS settings found in these forums. I can pair the 2215 with the V400 with the DC660 adapter. I can sync the V400 with the iPAQ 2215 using the DC600 adapter. But if I try to use the V400 as a dial up modem to connect to the web via the iPAQ 2215 using the DC600 I get a message that says, "connected" but then disconnects instandtly with no error message. "Cannot connect" is the only message in details. I have two setting on the iPAQ, one for a dial up connection, and one for a sync connection, both set up with the bluetooth manager. (The sync setting does work.) Has anyone tried the same combo with success? Should there be another setting other than dialup modem or what should it be?
Thanks in advance.

Does the DC600 support DUN (dial-up network)? If yes, are using any Init String? When using Init String on your Pocket PC there is no need to enter the "AT" part of the command.

I am using the initialization string of: +CGDCONT=1, "IP", "ISP.CINGULAR", as found in another post in these forums. With it or without it, still cannot make a connection.

In regard to using it for dialup, the few instuction lines do say, "Follow the instrucitons for your Bluetooth enabled computer or PDA to use your phone with the Wireless Adapter as a modem". On the iPAQ it does show and the item I selected is a Bluetooth Dialup Modem (actually it' s the only modem choice).

The numbers I've tried dialing are *99***2# (actually 1, 2, 3 and 4, all with no difference). The user name is: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM with password of CINGULAR1. I've also tried ISP@ and WAP@CINGULAR.COM, all with no success.

This looks like a GPRS script rather than a standard dial up script. Are you trying to connect to GPRS or a normal DUN connection?

Gareth is correct. If this is a GPRS connection, follow this Bluetooth Guide, entering the init string and the number (*99# or the CID identifier).

I downloaded the Bluetooth guide and followed each step, before I made my first post to this forum. The phone number: *99***1-4#, and the script, are those as suggested at the very bottom of the guide.

Thanks though for your suggestions.

But from the first post it sounded like you wanted to connect to a DUN modem rather than a GPRS connection. Which do you want to do?

The Motorola DC600 plugs into the bottom of the Motorola V400 and supposedly adds bluetooth capabilities to the phone. When I pair the iPAQ 2215 to the Motorola V400/Motorola DC600 combination, it recognizes the V400/DC600 as a "bluetooth modem", and even says this on the iPAQ screen. The phone connects via GPRS.
(As a side note I have connected the V400 with a Dell Axim X3i PDA via a cable and have no problem with the Axim connecting to the Cingular web/www or what ever you want to call it. But what I need to do is get my iPAQ to do the same thing via the bluetooth DC600/V400 combo.)
