Does anybody know what the WM 6.5 connection setting are for the Telecom XT network?

I have an HTC HD2 t9193 in hand ( 850MHz ) with voice and SMS services connecting but not data.
The handset is the Telstra one from Personal Digital
http://personaldigital.com.au/p380/HTC-Touch-HD2-T9193-Telstra-NEXTG-850Mhz-AT&T-Roger-&-Telecom-NZ/buy.html

Can anyone confirm that the cellular line number is *99# ?
Telecom mobile helpdesk has been especially useless at answering my questions.

Thanks.

That number is correct but only if you are using the device as a modem. You don't need that at all to configure it for its own Internet access.

Can you confirm what you want to achieve?

We have some sticky posts on how to configure Windows Phone devices - look for those. You want to create a new connection, then a new modem and connect to GPRS/3G. You will enter the APN internet.telecom.co.nz. You don't have to enter a number.

Hi Mauricio

Thanks very much for the reply.

When I make a new connection I only have the option to select 'Cellular line (GPRS)'. 'Cellular line (GPRS,3G) is not an option.

Under the Phone settings the Network type is Auto and the band frequency is Auto. Setting the network type to WCDMA did not seem to help.

I can get a data connection using CDMA but not G3. Any ideas about why, or any links to the posts that I should be reading?

thanks.

Leave phone setting n Auto. Use the cell line (GPRS) option and enter the APN I posted before.

Check our Telecom forum for the XT settings. And look in our Vodafone forum stickies for a post about configuring Windows Mobile.

Look here, replacing the obvious Vodafone APN with the Telecom information: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=6&topicid=6711

Thanks Mauricio, I appreciate the assistance.

I have a data connection, but in the 'select a modem' drop down I dont have the choice of 'cellular line (gprs,3g)  only 'cellular line (gprs)'.   I assume that this means that I am not getting 3G data, when browsing the web, it certainly does not feel like 3G.

You have data? Good. If you are on Telecom it is 3G. Their network is 100% 3G.

You must be getting 3G, since XT is WCDMA (3g) only, no gsm/CDMA.

So can someone please confirm that this will run on Telecom XT? It's an expensive phone so I want to be sure before I by one :)
