I have tried many different things, and have got many different errors.

I have a tungsten t, using palm web pro.

when i have the connection type set to ppp and attempt to connect, i get a error: ppp timeout (0x1231)

what does this mean, and how can i fix it?

i have broadband internet. does this have to b logged off on my pc before i log on with my pda, or what?

What am i doing wrong, and what settings do i need on both my pc and on my pda?

Help appreciated...

Are you connecting over Bluetooth? If so have you followed our guides?

I would recommend you have a look at this article for a checklist. There you'll also find a script to solve this problem.

Ok, thanks for that, done the checklist, and it stopped the ppp timeout 1231, but now i'm getting a different timeout:

error: timeout: 1212

got any more suggestions?

thanks again

Is this a USB adapter? If so, is it plugged directly to your computer or to a HUB? Also, at what stage you get this timeout? Do you see any PIN request on your computer?

yes, it's usb, plugged directly into my pc. there is no pin request, as the timeout comes quite quickly - after about 4 or 5 seconds after i attempt to connect.

I have a PalmVIIx and I have WinXP Pro my issue is that I have my palm on my cradle plugged in to my serial port. I can Hot Sync. What I want to know is how can get on my network with the palm to get internet. What I've done so far is Set up my user name in the Network tab and set the connection to serial. Service is untitled. I have PPP connection type. I have set the DNS servers to the external ones. IP address is automaticly. Idle timeout 1 min. That is how I have it setup. I put my user name in that is Jose and blank password. On the PC side I set up an incoming connection to use COM 1 allow PDA's to connect without password option. I'm getting that same error: ppp timeout (0x1231). How do I get this to work.

If you want to connect the Palm to the network using Serial connections from the cradle, you'll need to install a third-party software, like MochaPPP.

Please open other thread to discuss this if you want to go ahead, since it's not related to the previous topic.
