I dont believe this..... have purchased Company of Heroes : Opposing Fronts this weekend..... installed fine, but when I load the game, I get asked for my Relic Online account details - all other options are greyed out INCLUDING the "Create Account" option !!! So I cant play the game.
Cant sign up for Relic Online anywhere except through the game itself........ the game does offer to download a 130mb patch, but this keeps stalling after 1mb

Anyone else got this game and kknow where I can download the patch from ? (Ive looked everywjhere I know with no luck. Apparently if you have already pacthed it, the patch exe is tucked away in your My Documents somewhere)

Really frustrated at this sort of behaviour from game companies...

Hi there,
Can't get online or create an account till you have the latest version - something relic makes difficult to do. You will have to apply several patches, which are quicker to download manually.

It's a decent amount to download, and theres yet another balance patch coming that is wayyyy overdue, since the playtest they did finished months ago. However there is a new version "tales of valor" coming next march so they are probably working on that.

Heh found out why I was so lost when it came to the patches.... the read me file for the game says its for v1.00 of the game so I assumed Id have to look for a v1.00 -> 2.xx patch when in reality the game out of the box is 2.xx anyway.... oh well, sorted now :)

I don't blame you - i purchased the gold edition containing the original CoH as well as opposing fronts and thought the same thing as you and downloaded the huge 1.7gb patch for the original. But then when i installed opposing fronts it wasn't necessary at all!

All you need to do in opposing fronts to unlock the original factions and campeign is to enter the product key in your account - opposing fronts already has all the content. I highly recommend buying the original so you can do this, since you will be able to play the American campaign, as well as American and Wehrmarcht in multiplayer. The original campaign is known to be slightly better than the opposing fronts ones, but i think they are all great.

Though thats assuming you didnt buy the gold edition like me.

No, just have OF. I did have a *cough*borrowed*cough* version of the original which I enjoyed, will probably grab my own copy next week to open the whole thing up for multiplayer :)
