Prince of Persia is an interesting and extremely frustrating game to play. It's very unforgiving and despite having better than average hand eye and reflexes, the controls don't make sense to me, so I am making a lot of mistakes. That wouldn't be so bad, if it didn't start you back at the start of the level and you have to fight everything all over again. I know I can change the commands, but I am keen to leave them as they are and hopefully, adapt. Having said that, 3 hours in and I have done the same beginning level about 15 times now :(

This all goes a long way towards my disdain for roguelikes. I don't have time for that.

Yeah, I don't like them much either, though I've had some considerable fun on a couple of others I can't recall the name of, but, eventually, it's all the same thing.

So. I have completed the main mission and a fair number of the side missions of AC: Origins and a lot of little extras.

It's a MASSIVE game, perhaps the biggest I've ever played, maybe Odyssey would be similar. I consider Odyssey the best I've played ever in that series but I did really enjoy Origins.  A solid 8/10.

I am trying to determine if I can be bothered getting everything done, or if I move on to something else. I have no shortage of games I haven't completed but can't think of any right now I feel strongly compelled to complete.

2024 has very little that interests me, but I am sure there are some games that will out and be unexpected hits.

Odyssey is way bigger than Origins.  It's arguably too big.

I finished all the missions I could be bothered with, and opened every region, completed all the question marks I could be bothered with.

Part of me wants to keep going, and at least do all the papayrii but I think I am a bit AC'd out given I just finished Mirage previously.

I'd have been interested to see my stats on Origins.

I agree, at my age (early seventies) I love playing PC games, but can not succeed many of the games that have a "click these keys in the right order and speed" vibe.

Far rather games that value thinking rather than reaction to progress.

Wow, so apparently MS is shutting down it's departments related to games on physical media. That's going to hurt retailers considerably.

I still prefer my media physically. I can resell it, I can usually buy it cheaper. Looks like a way for MS to turn those screws even harder.

Ditto but don’t have any MS involvement - would only concern me if Sony went down that track.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

It's unclear that means the end of media for Microsoft. They may well outsource it.

I finished AC Origins too recently.  I was going to move onto Odyssey but instead started Divinity Original Sin (1) so will try getting through that as best I can before I do Odyssey, finish Valhalla and then Mirage.

As for the MS closing departments from what I've heard it's just going to be there own 1st party studios so we'll still see a decent amount on disk for a year or two more.  In the last 6 months I've probably bought more games on dish than digital which for me is quite the opposite of my usual spends on games.

I think we're more likely to see the effects of server shut downs before we are full digital as we move closer to the inevitable digital only future.  What I mean by this is  we're starting to see more games just have the license key on the disk with no actual game. Similar to code in a box but code on a disk. When these games lose their support you won't have any ability to play those games from disk.

Games I'm playing currently too much Fortnite with my kids, as stated above Divinity, Vampire Survivors and the occasional game of Neon Abyss.

Games I'm looking forward to...Kingdoms of Amalur 2, Skull and Bones (will be based on actual gameplay I watch) and the recently released Suicide Squad will be the same as S & B. I can't really think of anything else.  Please note I am fully aware of FF7 part whatever coming out just never could quite get into it.

I started ghost of Tsushima yesterday. I am luke warm on it so far. I am finding it hard to suspend my disbelief that not once, twice, but thrice the bad guy has spared the good guy in the first hour!

I am starting to warm up to the gameplay, but it feels a bit clunky compared to AC games I've played recently.

Edit: A week in and I am enjoying it more. I will likely finish it. I do find getting around slower in some ways, but the quick travel is instant which is awesome.

Mates and I finished storyline in Grounded, but still playing anyway trying to find all the collectibles etc :)

Well worth the play, lot of fun to be had.

Looking for our next game now..... we enjoy the survival/building style.

Try Enshrouded, should be quite close to what you’d be looking for. Still in early access though.

Phil Spencer has come out and said MS isn't moving away from Physical discs.
