Finch: With the recent updates, looks like you can't use the PKMN wristband to spin stops anymore while driving/on the bus etc.

Darn it - that's what I bought it for!

Sell ASAP. Looks like it might be a bit worthless now?

I've been using my PoGo+ to spin the pokestop outside my building every 5 minutes. Seems to work well but disconnects every so often from my phone and I have to reconnect it.

If you use it while you are sitting still then fair enough, butbif you mostly used it while driving /on Transport looks like it won't work when going faster than around 40KMH

I tried using it a couple of times while driving, with it clipped to my seatbelt. Sometimes it would spin pokestops and catch pokemon, but mostly it didn't (there seems to be a delay between when the app sees that you're in range of the pokestop/pokemon and it notifying the PoGo+, and by the time you press the button you're out of range again, unless you're travelling slowly). It definitely saves me phone battery while I'm at work, so for me it's still worth it.

There was talk that the PoGo+ also increased the distance you could capture/spin, but I haven't seen any evidence of that myself.

The continued nerfing of the Plus annoys - however it is still worth it for me to get the Pokestop outside of work and for those times when I am walking but don't want to or can't have my phone open

All the spawn point changes over the weekend removed my home spawn points, as well as the work points that were just added a few rotations ago
Also having to relearn the areas I walk around to see what time things spawn and the co-ordinates

A new spawn point popped up outside my house, the first I've ever had. So now I can catch a pokemon every hour on the hour from my sofa. Sweet!

On the minus side I've seen very few pokemon appear outside my work, so maybe I've lost a spawn point there.

I forgot to take it with me on the school run this afternoon but I'll give it a test tomorrow when I have to go out for the afternoon. Even if it's less effective while driving, it's still super handy when grocery shopping (my supermarket has a pokestop). I usually have my grocery list open on the phone and forget to check when the stop refreshes. I go past a lot of stops in a heavy traffic area where there are lots of traffic lights so I'm often crawling or stopped for those. I should still be able to get them, whereas before I'd miss them completely when driving. Interestingly, on the way home from school today my son had the phones, and Pokémon were still spawning at just under 50km/h. We got the daily bonus for spinning a stop - quite a good haul of balls, potions, and an egg. Seven or eight items each.

Edited to add, I'm also a bit peeved about the changing functionality of the Plus. You buy it to do one thing and then it gets messed with... not very cool. I also haven't noticed an increased range on my device. Oh, and my parents have had extra spawn points added to their street - I can get three Pokemon at once from their living room. My house sits between three bush reserves, so we normally have a very full sightings list and can access five or six spawn points in the street or bush with a decent amount of GPS drift. I must check if they've moved.

You bet!

Here's my results. I was driving home along suburban roads, no motorways or main roads. As I approached the first pokestop I tried to manually spin it and got a "try again" message. My PoGo+ then buzzed and I pressed the button and the pokestop spun and I received my reward. I was doing about 35kph.

I drove past a few other pokestops at speeds of 35kph to 50kph and the PoGo+ let me spin and receive rewards for most of them. The few that I missed were probably due to me moving out of range too quickly, I used to get this before the update as there seems to be a slight delay before the PoGo+ alerts you.

I also was alerted to several pokemon as I was driving along and I managed to catch about 60-70% of them even though the nearby sightings list on the app was blank.

So in my experience, according to my 20 minute experiment, the restrictions don't apply to the PoGo+. Yay!

My main gripe now is that if I have the PoGo+ turned on and running in the background it will sometimes quit if I run another app (e.g. my Munzee app). The PoGo+ icon vanishes from the notification bar and I have to go back into the PoGo app and connect to the PoGo+ again. I don't know how the app works, but I would have thought the PoGo+ portion of the app would run as some sort of service which Android would lock in memory so it's not killed when more memory is needed by other apps. But I guess not.

I'm still running version 0.43.4, I haven't upgraded to the latest version that came out today. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Maybe, I could be wrong, maybe the wristwatch is unaffected and its only regular gameplay which is affected.

Also can confirm from my train trip home that pokestops passed at more than 30kmh gave me "Try again later" without fail.  That's just using Pokemon Go itself on the phone.  So looks like they've updated the speed checks recently.

On my drive to work today I managed to spin a pokestop with my PoGo+, and also catch several pokemon. All while travelling at 40-50km/h. Still haven't updated the app to the latest version, cos it's not available to me yet.
