Also how do you find it for day to day usage?

Your going to need at least a 980ti and be prepared to turn down some of the gfx settings. I'm playing the division at the moment and get see around 40-50fps on high with some large drops in places @4k.

Yeah one thing I found on my recent buying spree was that input lag matters (sold the cheepie 4k monitor & lesson learned) and you probably have to spend $$$$ to get max settings and a decent framerate running on 4k. Not to mention 30Hz is for me personally on the low side I settled for an ASUS 24" 1080 screen with high framerate running games on full res.

I have 2x AOC 1080p monitors (I think they are 23"), the light bleed is a bit annoying but other than that they do the job for 60Hz.
PC is an i7 5820, 16gb ddr4, SLI GTX 970 so Ive actually considered getting something 27" at whatever that setting halfway to 4k is? (1440? I dunno what it is) that is 100HZ or greater and has GSYNC. but the significant step up in cost for a good GSYNC 144 monitor is just too much to justify for the benefit it provides. But it also pains me that I'm not maximising the potential of the PC itself. Then I realise what I'm complaining about and sigh while I have total 1st world problems.

The gsync chipset itself is a sizable cost of it all.

When i picked out my main screen, it was the choice between gsync or 1440P, given the rest of my screens i opted for gsync to play with - Multiple scalier monitor so i could play with and without gsync.

Running GTX980TI, My rig is set up for gaming i7, 16gb ram, water cooled. Games - Division, World of tanks (120fps on this), world of Ships, pretty much any First person shooter or MMO. Fallout 4.

Never had a problem with any games, although WOT doesn't draw the screen correctly in 4k (Icons still very large)

Hi,

I have a 4 year old or so ASUS VG236 23" 3D/Nvidia 3D Vision combo monitor with NVidia GTX 560 http://event.asus.com/LCD/2010/VG236/

I am able to run games at 1080P and have FSX, XPlane 10 demo, Sims4, Second Life and soon No Mans Sky!....and have been very happy with it

Both FSX and Sims 4 run in 3D which is what I was after mainly for FSX as I really enjoy the 3D effects etc....everything doesn't look flat to my as in 2D....

Although I must admit to being interested also in the Nelson company SimPit with their 180 degree projection screen setup....also very immersive and it can also run the NVidia 3D vision system....having been a longtime subscriber to his YouTube channel....

So that's my 10cents worth...Laurie

I use a ViewSonic VX2453mh with my Xbox - fairly basic 23 inch with dual HDMI inputs. Don't think it's sold anymore.

I have recently upgrade my LG 23inch 1080p to an ASUS VX279H 27 AH-IPS 1080p monitor. I had a hard time deciding if I should go 1440p yet, but for the extra money and more expensive graphics card needed for reasonable frame rates, I decided to stay at 1080p for now, and I don't regret it one bit, the monitor is very good, even at 1080p

I have just transitioned from using a large LED TV to using a BenQ 24" monitor (RL2455HM)

(console vs PC usage mind you)

It's been a revelation - especially at a $300 price point!

Dual HDMI inputs, 1ms GTG response time, and super-low input lag (approx. 10ms tested)

Downside is this model is limited to 1920x1080 at 60Hz, but that aligns with the max outputs of today's consoles, so it wasn't a factor for me.

Old Samsung 27" 1080p @61 HZ the colours are good. Looking at getting a GTX1070 when it's released, and then eventually will replace the screen with a 1440. 4K gaming is still a way off. Although the GTX 1080 is doing about 60 FPS @4K if you want to spend the dosh.

AOC 144Hz aweful colours 24" 1080 panel thing which is nice and smooth when games dont do dumb stuff with their framerates (cough fallout 4), flanked by a couple of ex lease 23" 1080p HP things, also with aweful picture and a really bad case of that checkerboard thing that cheap panels do.

All have to have their brightness at 100% or they get really flickery, and the AOC does that horrible blanking the backlight for each frame thing too which makes it flicker which I seem to have turned off with one of the options mostly.

Bought myself the Acer X34 Predator but it was too wide for me haha so I sold it.

If it's the XB270HU, pretty sure it's an Acer :)

I have the XB271HU and although Acer's QA on the first panel I took home was nothing short of shocking (2 dead pixels out of the box plus very noticeable backlight bleeding), now that I have a perfect panel* I love it. The combination of excellent colours (after a lot of adjustment), no lag, and screen real estate is amazing. For people who game and want an IPS panel, I think this is well worth it. Just make sure you buy from a supportive retailer (Playtech and Computer Lounge are my recommendations) that gives you a cast-iron perfect pixel guarantee during the warranty period.

* kudos to Playtech, the retailer that I bought the thing from -- they swapped out my monitors with no hassles, whereas Acer seemed barely interested)
