Patiently waiting for the open beta.. seems to run quite well for most people, 6950 seems to max it on high settings. As far as ive seen the Ultra setting dosn't work in the beta.

So it appears the BF3 beta uses a form of browser plugin to matchmake and start games.
However, I can't seem to get anything to happen, and therefore I can't play the game!!

All it's doing is sitting there trying to matchmake, but does nothing else other than that.

Has anyone played it yet, or are you getting the same issue as I am?

Ah. Ok, it seems the matchmaking is down for some reason according to the BF3 dev blog.

Don't use the matchmaking, it just sat there for me too. I'm at work so can't remember the option but I think you need to select the Filter or something similar (?). Anyway, get to the point where you can enter a server name and enter ON3 if you're in NZ to see the many ON3 servers ready to take you!

Can't wait to get back online, I only got 30 minutes or so before 3am last night. Feeling a bit tired at work today.

At this point it's impossible for me to play the BF3 beta as custom mouse key bindings seem to be broken. I guess that's why it's called a beta, right?

It's funny how you get hangovers from having your keys set-up a certain way, and when it's not possible to change them to the way you prefer, it ruins the whole thing.

Plus I seem to be getting kicked out due to my NVIDIA drivers crashing occasionally. I have the latest 285.38 beta drivers recommended for BF3. 'Beta' also being the key word here.

Does the public beta start at midnight on the 29th (1 hour away) or are we going to have to wait until its the 29th in the US?

Will it show up as a free download in EA's Origin client?

Probably not.
Logic would say that it will be on the morning of the 30th in NZ.
I got my "27th" MOH BF3 key email at just after midnight on the 28th, so it would be safe to assume it will be the same for the open beta.

I,m stumped .. its Beta and there is 1 month till release?.. I get clipping when i am crawling along the ground , some textures are really rubbish .. see this .--> http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,846975/Graphics-in-Battlefield-3-beta-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly/News/

This game really makes my GTX 295 scream in pain !.. MW2 barley sweats when everything set at full ..lol

Most set at High settings for BF3 , textures at Med/Low cant remember.. 

Good game , very hard to play tis been while .. but I have found hiding in the bushes in great at getting a 7-0 kill streak :)
