Grace period has been published as 5 days before launch (so December 15th). It will be staggered pre-order release, which means, First Pre-orders, get the full 5 days, later pre-orders may only get 1-2 days grace.
Also, Amazon (from memory) also issued an email statement, mentioning both the game will be posted, and the CD-Key Emailed (not sure if this comes from Amazon, or BioWare/EA). Either way, you may get the key before the boxed game, which means, downloading might be quicker to start playing, than waiting for the boxed game to be posted across country =)
I actually setup 2 accounts. So if someone doesn't have an invite, and wants to get one, I can activate my second account. =) Then do the extra security settings, and forward you the details.

swamped, yes, they even did scheduled maintenance on their servers yesterday (probably to improve performance for all the logins etc they will be getting!)
Once downloaded, can it be shared? Thought the installer/downloader doesn't save the install files/packs.
Are the invites randomly sent out? Or is it based on the order in which people did their pre-order?
I pre-ordered yesterday afternoon through amazon and signed up online last night with the pre-order key amazon emailed me. Apart from it mentioning "early access" I am not sure If I should be expecting to receive an invite or not. Does anyone know how this works?
To be honest Id be happy if I could just download the game on the release day though.
Does "early access" mean that I can download the client before the physical media arrives? ie: download and play the game on the release date instead of waiting till the 4th of January for the DVD to get shipped to me?

Thanks for that, it was exactly what I was after. The site was 'incredibly' slow last night (most pages wouldn't load at all) and the site is blocked at work for me today.
Hopefully it is working better tonight so I can go through see what all the details are.
