Anyone else part of the beta test for NZ/AUS?

Really enjoying it, still has a little polish to be applied but should be all go on launch!

Highly recommend to all!

No invite here either, but man I would love to try the beta out.

One of our Team leaders here was into the beta last week, he has had nothing but good things to say about it. Apparently it's going to be a WoW killer.

Playing a Sith Marauder (dual weild). The light, Dark side options & companion reactions to them are pretty good.

Space combat is alot of fun & a good distraction from the main story line.

Havn't managed any PVP yet.

Crafting is great. Can solo quests and send your companions off on missions to gather mats or craft items. Letting you afk in a city and still have something going on in the background (house work haha)

Also depending on your alignment to dark/light your character will change appearance!

beta finishs today i think so it all ended to soon!!!

Once its out we should jump on the same server & have some fun!

So are you saying that mmo's aren't a hamster wheel OR that they are and that you don't care?

I avoided MMO's for the same reasoning until LoTRO came along and I had to take a look being such a big Tolkien fan. Now that I'm a convert to the format, I consider myself extremely naive to have labeled an entire genre I knew nothing about... ymmv.

Friends of mine are still sworn off MMO's, but it's like most things in life; everything in moderation.

Anyhoo, didn't get a TOR beta invite so was a little dissapointed. Not too much longer to wait tho. Ordered the CE about 5 mins after I got the Bioware email.

In a polite way I was saying stay on topic & be constructive.

Don't right off the whole MMO genre, each game has its pro's & con's.

I seem to see you making that Hamster wheel comment in other MMO threads & adding no value to the discussion.

In an MMO I would call you a troll

Lots of people claim to be casual players of mmo's then spend 4+ hours a night 5+ days a week playing them.

Even when you think you are playing casually you often aren't, you're sub consciously making lots of choices to play the game rather than do other things.

I would put real money down and bet that all mmo players have less in person contact with their IRL friends than non mmo players.

The psychology of intermittent variable reward (aka intermittant reinforcement) will keep you playing a mmo because the game never ends... cognitive dissonance will not let you see why that's a bad thing.

It's your life you can spend it a significant amount of it in an mmo like SWTOR if you like, I just hope in a couple of years you don't look at the hours you've spent and think imagine what I could have done instead with that time.

Mate the thread is about whether or not people participated in the TOR Beta program, not about your personal pyschological preferences in gaming. And personally, I've met more people irl from gaming in the last 4 years than from initial personal contact.

Feel free to adjust your tinfoil hat however and continue to avoid MMO's at all costs.

Ragnor, this is not place to lecture people on their lifestyle choices. Stop dragging this thread off-topic.

Anyway back on topic, I didn't get into the Aus/NZ test but have been part of the beta test program since July last year.

The game is feeling very well polished now and for the last few months haven't come across any bugs or issues that would say the game isn't in a releasable state. The few little glitches that have popped up from time to time have been stomped on very quickly.

I'm really looking forward to release in 61 days, 9 hours and 23 minutes. Yes I am counting it down.

I never played SWG but have played through KoTOR I and II a million times, this is successor to those in MMO form. If you love story then this is a game for you.
