I must admit I very much enjoyed Total Annihilation.

I could look this up, but what actions directly affect your after mission ratings for leadership etc?

I made the mistake of preordering it from Mighty Ape, it looks like it's still sitting up in a CourierPost depot in Auckland (I'm in Chch). Currently listening to the Last of Us 1 soundtrack instead...

My wife and I also made the same mistake, except they can't even do overnight delivery within Auckland. She's given Mightyape bit of a serve for not sending the game out earlier (which they did for FFVII Remake), given that they chose to use the ever useless CP.

I also made the same mistake. Last status update was 8:20 am Thursday when the tracking number was generated. So much for the advertised "Get RELEASE DATE DELIVERY direct to your door".

Go and give MA a serve. They also need to accept accountability for not sending out the game early enough in light of the abject performance of snailpost.

17hrs in.  I'm doing absolutely everything, exploring every building etc, so I imagine I'm about 50% through the story whereas I know a lot of folks have finished the game in 20-25hrs.  My advice is - do what I'm doing.  Resources are SCARCE.  The more you explore the more you get the ability to upgrade things, the better your overall experience will be, especially in some of the more intense action set-pieces.

I'm about 4 hours in, so far I'm absolutely loving it.

This is the first game in a long time where I've read every letter I've picked up, it makes it so much more interesting when you find yourself in a room or building where "something" happened and you can say "oh that's that guy who went off to find medicine for that woman I came across earlier", or some such.

I am not that far in, maybe like, 4 or so, I am staying in a location until says it is completed. Hopefully, that is accurate.

Combat is hit and miss for me. A few moments I've jumped from my skin, other times it's felt like the prior game where it's luck that gets you through an encounter. Load enough times, you'll eventually get things done.

I am playing on medium.

My wife watched me play for a while, she was very impressed with the graphics, said it was like watching a movie. I feel I would have benefitted from playing the first one again immediately prior, because other than the two characters, I can't recall much if anything about the first. I feel like parts of the second I don't really get for that reason.

@Networkn watch this: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTzt1HHioGrYy9T0S7yEwKo1z-iiMSXYg

A guy made an excellent cinematic playthrough, removing hud elements and editing the game into 7 tv sized episodes.  It's from the original PS3 game rather than the remaster, so the graphics aren't as good, but the story is intact and the overall job he did is outstanding.

Thanks for that. I don't see me sitting through nearly 5 hours of content to catch up though, though I am sure I can find an abbreviated version as well :)

I bought LOU on PS3, and have yet to play it :(

I just cant get into games on console too much for some reason, GTA/RDR on PS3 are the only ones Ive really gone stupid with when it comes to gameplay hours.... got RDR2 for Xbox One, and hardly touched it.

Will haev to have a "me" day and sit down with LOU, then if enjoy it, may consider a PS5 and get the 2nd one on that ;)

I was thinking the exact same thing last night, I find a piece of paper and I actually want to read it. The only thing I'm not bothering with are Ellie's journal entries.

I've also found that the NPCs are a lot less useless in part 2, actually killing zombies instead of just standing around. And the scenery, just wow.....

I always preferred PC to Console for the longest time, I didn't reallly enjoy console controllers, but over time they have improved, the games have improved, and to be honest, sitting in the comfort of an armchair with a big screen and surround sound, its hard to beat over sitting around a 27" screen, crouched over. I do still have franchises I play on PC, but these days (like XCOM and CIV etc) , I almost exclusively game on consoles.
