Hi all,

Mates looking to buy a PS3 in Palmerston North. Wellington JB Hifi is 2 hours away, what's the best other store deal anyone knows of at the moment? Warehouse is $549 but doesn't seem to include game. Dick Smith is $599 with a game. Harveys wont do a good deal on the console here. Ideas?

Cheers.

The Warehouse deal does include a game.
Assassin's Creed, Rainbow Six: Vegas2, Iron Man or Ghost Recon 2.
It's in their latest mailer.

Ha f'n typical from Harveys.  Sales guy there told my friend that he'd just recently checked with the Warehouse for another customer and that the Warehouse said their package did not include a game.  Wnkr.

Hahaha. That's pretty shameful of Harvey Norman.
I hardly ever purchase anything from them anyway.
They are usually the highest priced of the retailers, and games are usually never on sale, or still at old RRP even though they have gone platinum / classics pricing. Much like EB.

bugger.   ok then,  so where is the cheapest place to get a slim Ps3 now (with or without games bundle)?

(I also note that EB games have still not changed the price of their second hand 40GB PS3s,  still priced at more expensive than the 120GB brand new PS3 slim .Tongue out)

The Warehouse has for 595 without games but with a MadCatz HDMI cable.
JB HiFi has the PS3 for 589 without games unsure if with HDMI cable.

EB pricing fail. I never shop there unless absolutely necessary, and even then I'd rather wait for other places to get the game in stock I want.

I got mine on Saturday, went to EB Games in the end. Read my blog post about it.

I think I have a winner here

Noel Leeming
PS3 Slim, Red Faction Guerilla, Bluray remote, and $180 game vouchers!!

all for $589.

I just picked mine up. they had run out of blu-ray remotes unfortunately but will have some in in a few days.
I thought that the vouchers might be 18 x $10 vouchers, but not the case apparently.
I used $55 of my vouchers to buy Resistance 2, and will use the remaining $125 when Uncharted 2 comes out in a few days to buy that and put the remianing $15 or so towards something else.

that means I paid $589 for a PS3 slim with 2 games and remote control for $589, and still have $125 of credit to use later.

ETA:  people are trying to sell their old 40GB PS3 on trademe for $600+, more thanti costs to buy a brand new PS3 120GB. Are they mental?
