I've been teetering on the brink for a little while and now I'm gonna go for it...better price, smaller and less thirsty.

Not everyone seems to have their prices organised yet but this is what we have so far:

From PriceSpy:

Play Tech: $598
Noel Leeming: $598 Includes Blu Ray Remote
Bond+Bond: $598 Includes a game

DSE seemed to have the best price for the old ones but haven't got an advertised price yet for the new one: verbally a shop assistant mentioned $629 but maybe DSE are hanging back to see what happens..

Also: Does the "Mini Remote" work for playing BluRay discs?

Does anyone know where the prices are going to go after the "Introductory Offer" is over?

i really doubt there'll be a discount on release - firstly it's a sony, secondly it's already 'discounted' compared to the old model, thirdly ... umm ... but, you just never know! someone MIGHT just discount a few dollars off it on pricespy

keep in mind it is $299 usd...
converted into nz dollars is $440 with the current exchange rate at 0.68ish

so why $629? even if it is shipping $629-$440 it's $189....
$189 just to ship to new zealand? wtf?

this is so stupid

OZ pricing is $499 AUD, at 0.80 that is just under $625 NZ, so our pricing is not that much out of line with them.

Oh crap, forgot about JB and DSE

Apparently JB has the stadnard 598 preorder deal on at the moment till the 3rd.
Youl could always print out a copy of gamesmans advert and barter them down though

Dick Smiths though, well $629 at the moment, no free games and when you click it, it comes up as sold out

Must admit though, powering down the 360 and hearing it's fans spin down and stop vibrating the table for the last time has made me a bit sad :( RIP Xbox RIP I will miss you....till the Slim comes out in 2010 and hopefully Project natal
