What do you mean by "aiming system using a mouse"?
Do you mean having to press the RMB to 'aim down the sights"?
If so, I agree. I don't seem to be able to change any of the key bindings for the mouse, and it is driving me nuts.

No, I'm very much used to COD and it's amazing aiming system, what I mean is if you play the console version it's quite slow and just wierd, then you use the pc version and it feels exactly the same with a mouse, it's no where near as accurate as cod.

Another POS in this game is changing settings, you have to be spawned in to change anything or even quit and then you get shot and shot and shot trying to set the game up.

TBH the aiming system just feels like bc2.

+1 It's hopeless.

I will still get the game at some point for the Single Player Campaign, I pre-ordered MW3 from steam when it was available so will play through the SP soon as its available then try out MP and compare the 2 games.

For those that have a Pentium Dual CPU @2.00GHz, and a ATI Radeon hd 4670, that could run bfbc2 quite well on low settings even though the minimum requirements were this:

.....be warned....... when I played the Battlefield 3 beta I was getting 20 frames per second on average, and when "running" during game play around 15 fps. Not really the best experience at all. So now I'm stuck with Battlefield Bad Company 2, until a mega upgrade

Damn CPU not good enough.
Also Yes I did install the latest drive for the ATI GPU recommended for this beta.

So what are peoples thoughts on the beta? im quite enjoying it for the most parts. You need to be able to adjust settings from a menu though, how shortshighted was this! i dont want to spawn to do it! Also why cant i change my kit loadouts between rounds, theres a good 2 minute wait between rounds, perfect time to add those new attachments etc.
i havn't had a lot of time to sit down and play it (probably an hour and a half total), so im getting a fair wooping due to a VERY limited assortment of guns and attachments (im level 4 at the moment) Im in awe of the level 42 player i seen, geez how nice would it be to be able to devote 12hrs a day if not more.. (im level 30 in bc2, its taken me 140 hours to get there.. heres a guy level 42, the beta has been out for less than a week? what the?).
I built a new pc for BF3, at high settings @ 1080p (hbao and bloom off) im getting over 100fps in the subway, and about 60-70 in the open environment, quite happy with my purchase really.

core i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz
8gb ram ddr3 1600mhz
2 x 6870 in crossfire
BF3 installed on my OCZ Agility 3 SSD.

I will be going down and placing a preorder after the beta has ended.
Did anyone get onto a Caspian Border server before they were all pulled down? it looked epic, i was gutted last night to find out id missed my chances with that one.

I've been loving it, trying to cut back though. The frequent promotions and weapons upgrade keep me playing one more round.
My PC has an i7-2600K with a GTX580 so no problems running the game. Lots to tidy up before the final game though but I guess that's what the beta is for.

One criticism is that Metro should never have been the map to kick things off with. Caspian Border has the classic BF gameplay and they should have made all efforts to launch with that instead. The quicker they get that out on the servers, the better.

A lot of people playing Metro also don't seem to understand what to do about the objectives, or they just don't care. Leaves more points for others I guess.

The sniper's mobile spawn points are cool as I find if you put them out of sight most enemies don't know what they are yet and just leave them alone. Gives you a chance to attack from the rear.

I'm enjoying the map. OK no vehicles but still not a bad map I think.

With regards to all the people complaining about having to spawn to edit your settings, I'd think this is just for the beta, sure they will make it edible from the menu for full release.

It is a bit annoying not being able to assign any keys to the mouse in the beta, so used to having crouch, melee, grenades on my mouse :(. Took some time to get used to it, but doing better now, at least im getting a + kdr for most games.

I have no issues with Aiming Down Sights (ADS), even coming from Black Ops. Just a learning curve I guess, but that's the same for all games.

Yeah loving this too. I've found sometimes it's useful to go recon and put 1 down, then change class after i die and enter on the mobile spawn with a different class.

Since i downloaded the pre beta i havent had a chance to play the game yet due to a "connecting" loop in the web plugin on the battlelog interface. When i try to join a server the web plugin stays on "connecting" and the bf3.exe application stays minimized on the taskbar (it is a black window when i open it). My current setup is win 7 64bit 4 gig RAM, e8400 and a 260GTX. Firewall is off, Upnp has been dsiabled/enabled to no effect and i dont have anitmalware. Now below is the closest i have got to sorting this issue out, from the looks of things when i run a tracert to easo.ea.com (ea support told me to do so) it drops 100% packets when it hits AT&T hosted servers in the states. Yes i do have Orcon Genuis. Any ideas?

That drives me nuts.. I keep ending up on a losing team because nobody defends anything, they all just run forward and get killed...
My cousin has it on xbox and they seem to have the right idea from what I've seen! (who woulda thunk console players can get it right ;P)

Level up is really fast in beta because EA/DICE said they want to test out the stats system/server. In the final version you won't be able to rank up/unlock items nearly as fast, no matter how little life you have.

Last night I saw couple of lv50 dudes running around and chasing down other players like Texas chainsaw massacre.

I highly doubt the current client is their latest build, as there's no way they can read all the feedback, fix the issues, get everything tested out and release in one month time - not for a software development project at this scale. Plus for XBOX and PS3 you have to send in the final build for certification at least 3 weeks prior release.

My guess is that they just throw out a reasonably stable demo build they compiled a while ago for some game show (e.g. E3) . Besides the obvious marketing purpose, they just wanted to test out stress handling capability of the server side infrastructure - the one thing they can't test with internal team.

Or, DICE might really screwed up and this is the latest build and we are gonna have a buggy as hell BF3 release and a 3GB day 1 patch.

Who knows.
