i am assuming its like WoW. doesnt need to be installed as such, just the game folder. then any missing registery stuff gets updated when launched.
I could be wrong tho. id guess it doesnt keep the install files as that would take another 18odd gig of storage.

 Correct.

The total installed directory is 38.2GB on my end. I have copied that directory to another computer, launched the launcher and away she went.

The download (I've been told) is less than 20gb, but in its uncompressed and installed state, the final directory is 30gb+.

I have been in a previous beta, so no doubt there are some extra files here and there (not sure which ones to remove) - but yes, installed it is over 30GB either way - some people have reported over 50GB folders (ones that have been in multiple betas)

I was more just trying to confirm that an installed version can be 'transplanted' to another computer

I can confirm that the client can be move between PCs. Running the launcher repairs the installation very quickly and you are good to go.

I started the download this morning and at about 20% blew my 80GB cap. 3rd build this month for me :-(

Logins have been up and down most of the day, been keeping on trying tho. Finally got back into my account and it asked for a whole new set of security questions. Sorted! I'm now downloading the beta client.

I'm sure it'll be laggy as all hell, but really looking forward to having a look this weekend.

Yea, I actually have 2 beta accounts, and they were setup at different times.  So one starts sat morning, and the other starts sunday morning.
Looks like they are staggering their Beta Testing also.  My mate set his account up over a year ago.  So he gets in on Friday morning!

Hey guys. I don't have the GBs to download the game. Any chance I can pay someone to put it onto a flash drive and send it.

I'd pay for the drive and your time.

Ideas welcomed :)

You're a legend! I live in Tauranga.

I'm happy with either option.

I'll list my email address: I have three external drives and would be happy to send them on once I've received a copy.

Just opened the Beta this afternoon, just to see if anything else needed downloading.  And it appears it does!  Does not look like much atm, maybe 100-200mb.  But takes about 30-60 minutes depending on your speed.  So if you don't want to wait when your able to play, I suggest you check now to make sure you have all the downloads.  =)
