Sunset Overdrive on my PC, came as part of the XBox GamePass for PC.

I tried twice to play it, but I couldn't 'get' it.

Yeah, it's probably either - "I totally get it" or "I totally don't get it". The whole thing is a bit of a meta joke -

"Here, we've put together the best parts of games we really liked playing, and made it into a new game. Yes, it's a game, we aren't even going to pretend there's anything else behind it. You're a gamer, it's a game, so there."

I know the type of game it is, I'd love a copy if you have it, as I am keen for my Son to give it a go.

I think the first minute of the game is probably fair, uh, game.

Cyberpunk has gotten some fairly mixed reviews. Mostly positive but people are taking about unparalled levels and severity of bugs for an open world game, even one as ambitious as this was.

I am reluctant to play if it's going to be awfully buggy, and wondering if I give it a week or two for some patches to come out to address the biggest ones. There is confusion over what patch level reviewers got.

I have waited 6 years for this game. I want it to be something awesome.

You lose nothing by waiting especially given you've been waiting this long. I'm personally giving it months because games of these magnitude always need smoothing out to get to a good working state.

I am really torn, but I might wait a few weeks at least. Maybe till patch 2-3 drop. Apparently, they will be dropping small patches frequently to hit the biggest most impactful bugs.

They should have delayed it till Feb 2021 and got it right, that coming from a guy who has been waking up "is it Cyberpunk day yet" for months :)  (Not really).

Avoiding Spoilers will be the trick.

Yeah, I've seen it. Do not remember the name, but it's the game where there is computer in-game and action on this in-game computer mix with the in-game reality. I did not care for that game much, alas. But great you liked it.

Early ‘reviews’ are a clusterf... I don’t think cdpr should have let news outlets do a pre-version review on the game. Both journo and pre-release disc version that consoles got early due to shipping are some versions behind launch day update.

IGN’s performance chart for gpu benchmarking was also taken down as it was not representative of actual performance. Some ‘leaked’ nvidia slides are showing the game running much better at ultra with raytracing+dlss. Journos got a press release with Denovo drm, no gpu drivers and a earlier build.

Also some negativity around game length, already rumours of the main story ‘only’ being 20 hours long when really it was the press rushing it to get their articles out.

Like others have said, just wait a day or so for actual release to make an opinion.

Edit: heres the link to post about nvidia benchmarks.

Hmm sounds like PC is the better version of this to be getting since that's had the most time and effort put into it apparently, so should be the least buggy?  I'll grab it at launch and see.  Also $20 cheaper on PC and the PS5 version won't be enhanced for next gen until next year.

Would love to get Cyberpunk for PC but I'm afraid my creaky old computer will have a cardiac arrest on anything bar the minimum settings hahaha. I need Santa to deliver me a new cpu, mb, ram, gpu and ssd 😂

I've gone with the console, as more likely to have the stability to at least start the game. FS2020 wouldn't work for 5 weeks on my rig till they fixed it.

I'd take some serious bugs over deal-breaking bugs any day of the week.
