The black gloss plastic in the middle where the buttons are feels really cheap.

BigMal:

I turned it on, downloaded and installed the day 1 patch, booted up astro bot, played for about 5 minutes then the screen went green and the console turned off.

Haven't been able to turn it on since. It won't even boot into safe mode.

Have you got a video of the boot process?

Does the ps4 feel superior in build quality or materials used? Or both?

I haven't opened mine.

Ps4 pro feels like a strong good product. Picking up the ps5 and it feels like it will break if you squeeze it. Can't recall how the first ps4 felt as I've long term lent it to my cousin's kids.

I’ve never had a PS4 but from what I’ve seen, the plastic quality of that central black strip is really cheap quality.

I have a ps4 and ps4 pro - which black strip? Or are you referring to the ps5? Have you felt it?

The first PS4 had a swappable cover that was glossy and would come off. There were other colours available to buy for a while but that quickly died out.

richms: I just hate it. The plastic wings feel cheap. Having to mess around with a base when changing orientation is annoying

Are you thinking of selling?

No, I am just having to move it between the floor and the top of the entertainment cabinet since it wont fit anywhere, and will be doing so till I move things around to get a full size stereo rack in here that it will go sideways in.

Can you stick it behind your TV out of sight?

Its not that slim. I do still have an old fire tv box screwed to the wall behind it, but thats about the thickest thing that will fit there. Really should unplug it to free up the HDMI input for something else.

The annoying thing is that it might just fit if I shortened the white wing parts down to the level of the black middle part. Not doing that till there are replacements available tho.

Why not just remove the white wings - apparently they just unclip.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Mine certainly attracts a huge amount of dust! It seems to be drawn across the black fascia and sticks there - probably shows the fans are working well - but it gets filthy very quickly!

I guess one of the drawbacks of having 3 cats and a dog in the house...

After spending some of the weekend playing, I am quite impressed. It's noticeably quicker though as I have said, not as marked as the Xbox Series X which admittedly had a spinning drive.

Everything is very smooth and polished. No crashes. The controller is better though some adjustment has been needed for my fingers to get used to the R1 and L1 bumpers. I find my fingers resting slightly high in the gap..

Controller Battery life isn't great, but fast charging makes up for it.

spoonynz: Is it me or is valhalla rubbish compared to the others??

Can you expand on that? I was thinking of picking it up.. 🧐

Completely disagree here, Valhalla looks absolutely stunning on ps5 and the time it takes to load over the ps4 pro is ridiculous, so much faster.

Gameplay, loving it so far love mixing the weapons up and story is good.

I have played the last 3 and this is my fav so far.
