Whats the deal with having an overseas PS+ account, i get it needs to be linked to a different account, but I have the understanding you don't need to mess with VPNs or anything, is that right?
I set up a PS account (but not a PS+ account) that purports to be a UK account so that I could download PS4 apps like BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport and ITV Hub - great streaming sources. You can't get these apps using a NZ PS account. Then switched back to my NZ account.
I put dns4me DNS settings on the PS4 - otherwise you get an error message saying "this content cannot be viewed in your country". This is almost identical to the approach you can take to get those apps on Apple TV. Maybe you don't get the error message if you stay logged with the UK account - don't know.
I put these DNS settings on my PS5 when I got it last week. Searched for the UK apps but found that apps for those sources aren't available yet for PS5 - early next year sometime.
