sdav: Not sure if you noticed it but the pipboy screen can be zoomed to be full screen. It's easy enough to read imo.

That's good to know; I've been using the phone app since it's "something different". I don't have the Pip-Boy Edition but who needs that when you have sellotape? tongue-out

Great idea! I'll break out the duct tape to put my iPad on-wrist!

eracode: put my iPad on-wrist!

And it'll probably still be less bulky than the real Pip-Boy laughing

Before I spend the $ on having someone at shipito open up my pip boy edititon to get a photo of the code, can someone confirm that simply redeeming the code in steam will get it to download everything and I dont need the silly waste of plastic from the retail edition?

God I can't imagine the pain of removing that if you have hairy arms like I do!

If that was directed at me then you can stop flinching; I actually taped it to a bracelet so there's no tape stuck in hair :)

I went to the physio and they taped my shoulder and back, removed it to play squash, and it took a layer or so of skin off me too. I now have rather rude red marks on my back! Hurt like a MF as well.

There's no small irony in the name of this game - Fallout is exactly what you'll suffer if you neglect the Other Half to play it!

Just purchased xbox one version from the Singapore store.xbox.com for $85NZD which seems to be the cheapest way to get a legitimate digital DL.

I'm on my second day of play (after a very frustrating session last night, struggling to get things working with my Dvorak keyboard layout). Still have UI annoyances getting in the way, and the unlisted and hard-coded keybindings are still tripping me up. (I refuse to switch my system to a default Qwerty layout just to get one game working)  I also can't really tell if the virtual surround sound in my G930 headset is working or not.

On the plus side, it runs better than I was expecting on my 2GB R7 260X (at 1680x1050). Haven't measured fps, but it's pleasant enough to look at (albeit heavy on the brown and gray). I'm getting back into the habit of "Quicksave Often!" and getting my head around some of the more egregious control hiccups ("activate" is hardcoded to the E key, which is unfortunately also D, the strafe-left key in Dvorak - I'm sure that's going to trip me up on a regular basis).

So far, it's unpolished (and keyboard controls are definitely a second-class citizen, even on default keyboard layouts - get used to the cursor key dialogue controls), but it's fun.

I am loving it so far, most of the things people are complaining about are pretty minor and can be patched fairly quickly.
Stuff like dialogue hitches etc. As Bethesda releases go this one is smooth.

The big thing at the end of the day is if the game is playable and does it run well? The answer to both of those is yes. More than can be said for a lot of other AAA titles that get released these days. But you would expect it to be ok, as its basically Skyrim with guns and radroaches.

p.s for those who mention they run out of fusion cores, maybe engage your Skyrim exploring talents a wee bit. I just ran out of my first core and I have 8 more in reserve, and I haven't even been looking for them. So they are around.

Oh and fast travel, never ever actually walk anywhere in your suit. You go back and get it when you encounter Nasty(tm) And E to exit the suit does work, its just whacky buggy when you are next to the actual suit crafting station. Try getting out a few steps away from it that works fine for me. But I do agree with a lot of people about the base building, the interface is nasty. I think we wait for a mod for that.

Does this mean that if you had a less-attractive GF this decision would be easier? There's your solution! FO4 FTW!

I have been really enjoying the game so far.
Bit disappointed that there is no SLI profile at launch but still runs well at 1440 on one 970.
Personally I had a good experience with new vegas and feel like the Fallout 4 builds on that experience nicely.
New scrap system has been a highlight, it makes travelling a bit more interesting when there is useful material everywhere.
Haven't dived into the settlement system very deeply but looking forward to that at a later stage.
