While it hasn't helped all, the new version has also fixed the GoPlus bug introduced in 0.93.3

Spoke too soon, the GoPlus has become even worse in this version. It was good for a few days and then has gone downhill fast.

My Go Plus refuses to connect to my phone. But I've read that this is a problem in the version of Android that I've got, 7.1.1. So short of an Android update for my phone I guess I'm stuck. When I try to connect it I get an error that says "Couldn't pair with Pokemon Go Plus because of an incorrect PIN or passkey". I've tried resetting the Go Plus and various other things but nothing seems to help... cry

I had that when I first upgraded to the S9+.

Spent a whole day next to a pokestop and gym not being able to connect.  Rebooted, restarted the game, reset the GoPlus a few times during the day.

Rebooted again when I got home and it connected straight up and hasn't been an issue since.

I've just installed the "Go Companion" app on my phone, which I saw a few people recommending. I'll see tonight when I get home if it fixes anything.

7th day field quest reward is highly underwhelming.  A crap IV Moltres.
Not rushing through the Special Quest either since results on Mew seem fairly average also.

I got my Moltres today too. Since prior to this I have only ever caught one other legendry, I'm very happy with my Moltres. I just need it for the pokedex entry. He's probably pretty rubbish (I wouldn't really know as I don't bother checking IV's) but that doesn't worry me as I'll never use him for anything.

My sister's Moltres was 98%, lol. It's like a legendary battle, you can get anything from 67% to 100%. I haven't checked mine yet, but it's not terrible. The payoff for having a 100% catch rate is that it's only L15, but that's okay. It's a great way for those who live rurally and can't get a big raid team together, or those who don't like to raid in groups, or those who missed them the first time around, to get all the legendaries. If they change them out each week, though, they'll run out of legendaries pretty quick. I wonder if they'll throw in other good Pokemon like Tyranitar and Dragonite as well?

I'm hoping that they'll offer regionals at some stage, and other very rare ones like Unown (which I still have never seen once in the wild).

Speaking of Unown, I see that Armageddon had an Unown event in Wellington the other week. I'm hoping they do the same when it comes to Auckland later in the year.

Yep, that resulted in many people making unscheduled trips in to town during the weekend.  Got the letters from Armageddon.

We had a couple of Unown spawn this week. One at the Albany tennis club, which resulted in a small stampede of people from a nearby raid. Another one appeared in Mangere. I'm astonished people are still encountering them with no trackers working. I really hope Armageddon repeats the Unown event in Auckland. It's their flagship event so fingers crossed. They've apparently confirmed they aren't doing it for Christchurch. If only they had given a bit more notice, people could have made plans to travel to Wellington.

^ Where was it confirmed that the Chch show would not have Unown?
I was planning on making the trip ..
I did decide that $550 for a flight on Easter Sunday to Wellington for approx 3 hours on the ground was just a tad expensive to get an Unown

I completed my Mew quest on Saturday - ended up having to refuse AR permissions just to hit Mew with a Pokeball.
Was only an IV of 75% so I hope they allow IV changes or the ability to delete and re-do ...

Completed Mew Quest on Saturday night, at the park, in the dark.  Made AR interesting.  71% result.

3rd EX raid, second caught Mewtwo.  Another 82%.  Meh.

Someone on the Silph Road subreddit messaged Armageddon and they said it was "unlikely to repeat in Christchurch". Which I guess means it's still possible, but I assume it would cost them to engage Niantic for each event and maybe they are balancing that against attendance, so it might hang on ticket sales.

I had a very big weekend. I managed to get Mewtwo, Mew and L40 all in the space of two hours yesterday afternoon. Mew was my L40 catch, which is how I'd planned it but wasn't sure if I could coordinate everything. My Mew was 82% and after playing a bit of TM roulette I ended up with Dragon Tail/Dragon Claw. I know Mew isn't really useful but it was nice to get a rare charged move on it so I'm happy. I thought I'd feel like taking it easy once I hit 40 but all it's done is make me more enthusiastic.

I'm looking forward to this mysterious Kanto event that was teased in Niantic's email the other day (starts Wednesday morning). The fact that the 2D sprites for a lot of the Gen 1 shinies have just been added to the game (discovered by data miner ZeChrales, as usual) makes me highly suspicious that we're going to get some kind of mass shiny release this week. That will make the normal daily grind a lot more entertaining, I must say. My son has wanted nothing more than all the shinies so he is very hyped. I'm trying to curb his excitement just in case it's a false alarm, lol.

So that'll be a heap more shiny ones that I don't find.

3480 magikarp caught and still no shiny.  :-p

And other than event specific shinies (Dratini @ Community Day etc) I've only ever randomly found Swablu shinies.

Nice to meet you in person On Sunday @littleheaven

My Mewtwo fled, so no luck for me there. But I'll hit those other local gyms and might get lucky. And I'm slowly working my way towards Mew.

Shinies for all of gen 1 would be nice, it would certainly make the grind a bit more bearable.

I'm so sorry your Mewtwo ran :( There seemed to be a lot of escapees this round of EX raids, but I'm sure if the base catch rate had been altered we'd know about it. I scoured The Silph Road to see if anyone else was reporting an abnormally high flee rate but came up empty-handed. Maybe just rotten RNG. Those raids you did with us on Sunday give you a good chance at another pass - we had more than enough activity.
