Spend the weekend playing the Wicher 3. Day one, took quite a while to get the feel for it, started doing missions, wasn't feeling it, was about to pull the pin and forget the game forever, decided to give it a couple more hours on Saturday. Started doing side missions, levelling up, and doing more crafting and have been having more fun with it.I will probably complete the game, unsure on the DLC.

Got Outriders for Xbox free with Gamepass, didn't get to try it, anyone tried it and have an opinion yet?

My fav 2 loot shooters are Borderlands and Division with Division being one of my all-time favourite games.

I have been playing Torchlight 3 which has been ok. Some very good sections with regular hard challenges against interesting and strong enemies. The fort concept is great but I just do not have the time to spend building it. Went to load the game the other day and got a data corrupt error message. Game opened and latest character was gone. Really pissed off as I was 3/4 through and have lost the character and all items gathered with it in the shared stash.

Looking forward to Diablo 4

I'm back playing TL3 now its released on PC games pass! Didnt play enough when it first was out on xbox...

You get your character back or gone for good?

Have not retrieved character, have started a new one in Diablo 3 which has been fun. Playing as a wizard for the first time and so far it has been very good.

The Witcher 3 DLC is as good, if not better, than the main story. You will not regret playing all the way through.

I've started playing Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order on my PC as the chances of getting near the playstation are pretty remote at the moment. It seems fun so far but I hate the respawn mechanic. How is it only respawning at a checkpoint is a thing these days?

The game doesn't require it if you fall off a cliff but does if you get killed in combat. It's really annoying to have to repeat two minutes of platforming to get back to a fight.

I played a bit of Cricket 19 tonight, just because it's on gamepass.

It's a game that does so much right and just completely screws it up. So many bizarre bugs which is a shame when the mechanics are really solid. I know there's no money in cricket games but it's pretty das to see something that could have been decent and isn't.

I think it's gone for the Souls-like structure.  Like when you meditate it'll respawn all the enemies.  It's encouraging you to try and get through the level without meditating, but also giving consequence to meditating and fully healing mid-level.  Also souls-like in the way that you can parry enemies and cause them WAY more damage than if you just melee or mash them.

I don't care about healing, that's fine to have a penalty for that. I get thoroughly annoyed by dying in combat then having to do 5 minutes of platforming to have the privilege of dying again. It's punitive and boring.

So I have a huge steam backlog of stuff I havn't played, some if purchased intentionally but much of it via Humble Bundle etc.

Having decided I really needed to start playing some of them, I played around with dynamic steam collections and discovered that you can do cool things like 'All unplayed <genre> games, sorted by steam rating'

So far I've discovered two gems that I would probably never have played otherwise:

I am totally stuck into the Witcher 3 now. I have spent the past few days, just doing side missions, levelling up my gear etc, but wondering what level I should level up till (I am level 27 now) before finishing the main missions?

I have been enjoying it on the whole, though trying to get the resources to buy and craft potions and armour is starting to get tedious.

Gone back to playing Planetbase......  have almost 60 colonists now, and everything looking healthy.

Also tried out GTA 5:LSPDFR which was a bit of fun, playing as a cop. Moved on to a GTA FiveM RP server in AU, but noone seems to play it as RP, so not much point except can have "real" cars.

Was looking forward to explaining to a cop why my Mini was capable of outrunning the police cruisers and why I was only wearing boxers in a snow storm....

Just finished Rise of the Tomb Raider with the 100% Completion trophy - but not all of the other more obscure trophies. Thoroughly enjoyed it - possibly because my initial expectations weren't all that high. A lot of fun.

Now have its sequel, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, arriving shortly via Trademe.

For the last couple of months I've been playing Valheim with friends. Despite encountering the odd bug every now and then, it still amazes me that it's early release. So much fun and so much to do.

After the highs of Rise, Shadows was a major let down.
