Congrats! None for me yet, but I haven't encountered too many. I have found a lot of a-grade high-CP Magikarp, though. I got shiny Shuppet on the third one after it was released in shiny form, and was quite early on Snorunt and Swablu as well, but shiny Karp took me months. Still hunting for Poochyeena, Murkrow and Duskull, I think. I am loving the extra stardust. With weather boost and a star piece on it's 562 per Pokemon. I'm also loving the extra spawnpoints that have popped up around the house and the new Pokestop at my local park that now means there are 4 stops and 2 gyms in about 100 metres. My son is at a birthday party for the bulk of tomorrow, so guess where I am going, lol.

The only shiny I've found (other than Community Day ones) is Swablu, and I check everything that I come across cry

My street received a new spawn point that reachable from my house, so now there are 3 spawn points that I can get from my couch smile

Which park received the new Pokestop?

My son got a shiny Wailmer yesterday. I so want that lavender beast, lol.

I'll be interested to see if the new spawn points stick around. I strongly suspect they are only for the event - I have two or three more that are easily reached from the house, but I don't think they'll be sticking around, sadly.

Marlborough Park got the new Pokestop. It's located on the park sign on the Archers Road boundary. My sister can see the park from her house, and she got an unfamiliar Pokestop disc show up on her nearby, and when she looked at the map, there was a brand new Pokestop with the "not spun yet" circle around it. Apparently there have been a lot of Ingress submissions stuck in limbo (neither approved or declined) for some time and they are now being processed.

I've managed about 150k extra stardust so far this event. I spent half of it maxing out my 15/14/15 Dragonite because I love him (and really I should have at least one L40 Pokemon) and the rest is going on getting my two best Rayquaza and a couple of Tyranitar up to 35.

I see in the latest APK mine that the fast rock move Smack Down has been added to the game. There is wild speculation that it might be for the June's community day and that it will be Larvitar, meaning we would get a chance for a double rock Tyranitar. I hope they make it available to other rock types like Omastar and Golem, and even Regirock.

While it hasn't helped all, the new version has also fixed the GoPlus bug introduced in 0.93.3

Spoke too soon, the GoPlus has become even worse in this version. It was good for a few days and then has gone downhill fast.

My Go Plus refuses to connect to my phone. But I've read that this is a problem in the version of Android that I've got, 7.1.1. So short of an Android update for my phone I guess I'm stuck. When I try to connect it I get an error that says "Couldn't pair with Pokemon Go Plus because of an incorrect PIN or passkey". I've tried resetting the Go Plus and various other things but nothing seems to help... cry

My Plus finally connected today after nearly 3 weeks of not connecting, not being seen by the app, etc. The time I spent trying it to get it to work was greater than the time spent playing. Ironically, it stopped working after I posted in a forum that it had worked without problem for a couple of days after that latest update.

It finally worked today after an app reinstall, phone reboot and then app restart. I only accidentally uninstalled Pokemon Go - pressed the wrong button - but it appears it might have made the difference. Having said that, I've found no consistent method to the Plus to connect apart from persistence.

How did everyone fare during the rest of the event? I never found my purple whale, but my son caught a second, lol. I achieved my goal of getting my Rays, Tyranitars and my 100% Salamence up to L35 and finished with 500k dust in the bank. While I'd like to power a third Groudon and Kyogre (and get my two best Raikou from 30-35) I am lacking the rare candy to do so, and Latias is ruining my raid motivation. I might wait to see if anything comes along that needs Raikou at a higher level for damage breakpoints before I take them any higher. I'm aware they could be outclassed by Zekrom in Gen 5, but also that Gen 5 is at least a year away, so I'm a bit torn. They may be perfectly servicable at L30. My catch of the event was a weather boosted L35 87% Rhyhorn with 15 attack, which I will hold onto for Rhyperior. I don't see them often around my local biome (outside nests) and he'll be a great dust saver and a good companion to my Groudon team.

No new shiny's for me cry

I also noticed that the new spawn point near my house seems to have vanished. So your comment about them being just for the event may have been correct.

It looks like you'll get a chance for different shinies with the new event :) So far Makuhita and Meditite confirmed. I would have liked Machop but I suspect that will be held over for a future Community Day.

I have kept one new spawn point that I noticed during the event, but it wasn't an event-related addition. I updated Witheford Reserve on OpenStreetMap about a year ago to "nature reserve" instead of wood. Because it's being actively conserved by The Kaipatiki Project and has a native plant trail, it more accurately fitted that tag, which is also a nesting tag. When PoGo updated its back-end data for nests at the start of the event, they also added additional spawn points to walkways in parks. So the native plant trail now has one :) I haven't been able to drift to it consistently enough to find out if it's also become a nest. When the reserve was initially mapped, the mapper just lumped Arcadia Reserve, Pemberton Reserve and Witheford Reserve together. A helpful OSM mapper helped me break it up, but they did it by creating a multipolygon relation feature rather than a way. It should not adversely affect it being a nest, but it will stop the Witheford Reserve gym being EX-eligible (unless they change their criteria at some point).

I think I managed to add around 800k to my dust collection (about half of what I had spent the week before?) .. heading towards 5 million again.

Ended the event with only the one shiny Wailmer, however one is better than none. I sadly did not have a before number, but based on best guess, I caught around 250-260 Wailmers during the event with a few more running. Last night the additional Pokestop I can see from my house activated with spawns appearing on the map. I also have an additional spawn point that I can reach from the house that has stayed after the event, much like the one that was there when the game launched (but disappeared soon afterwards)

Surprised we got another new event so quickly, but not complaining.
Have not yet found a shiny Makuhita and Meditite, but about 2 minutes into the event a 5km egg I had been walking for half a day hatched, giving me a shiny Togepi (sadly not the best IVs, but hey, still a shiny)
New research tasks/quest are good, and I am hoping that someone finds one that gives me a Jolteon (much like the Flareon task) - my random evolve luck with Eevees did not give me any good Jolts ..

My son took screenshots of our Pokedexes on the way to school this morning so we know how many attempts it takes to get the new shinies, assuming we get them at all!

And shiny Meditite caught on my lunch walk; and this time when the event started I managed to remember to take a snapshot of the Pokedex entries for each so I knew how many caught
As a result, I know that this was Meditite #111 caught (out of 175 seen) since the event started

Based on what is normally available locally, I am glad I got Meditite during the event as Makuhita is common (ish).

Has anyone seen any increased spawns of the Hitmons, or any evolved forms during the event?

No, haven't seen any of the Hitmons or evolved forms of the others. The spawns for this event seem to be slightly less dense than Earth Day, too. About 1/4 to 1/3 are normal Pokemon. I forgot the nests migrated today until we passed a shoal of Luvdisc at McFetridge Park, lol.

Got my 4th EX raid pass this morning, for Tuesday 15th at midday - just down the road at the Dunedin Railway Station

Otherwise nothing new; just been taking over as many gyms as possible due to the event - due to the event, more Gym Badge XP is gained so it's quicker to get to gold.
Managed to get gold on several more gyms, however compared to others I have a long way to go on many other Dunedin gyms

I accidentally caught a shiny Makuhita this morning. I was trying to put a Pokemon in a gym, accidentally clicked on a hidden Pokemon behind it, and when I looked down to select my gym defender, there was a shiny Makuhita on my screen, lol. I was so shocked I accidentally plain-Pokeballed it, and then it broke out and I almost had a heart attack. Golden razz got it on the next throw. Did a lot of raids this weekend (I think 12?) to get more XP and managed to snag my 11th EX pass - the 6th week in a row. I hope they go back to weekends on the next rotation because it's such an inconvenient time for many people - four gyms all at 1pm next Tuesday. I'm looking forward to Latios arriving so I can get a good Dragon type with the Dragon Breath/Dragon Claw moveset. Sure it's outclassed by Rayquaza, but I like a bit of variety and I hear those moves are super quick and fun to use. I never got them on my early Dragonites. I'm also interested to see what they have lined up for the Adventure Week event they teased in this month's email newsletter.

I managed to get a shiny Makuhita this morning too; I was beginning to despair of ever finding one.

Congrats on the shinies and EX passes; no extra shiny luck since last week
So far 300 Makuhita caught since the event started with the seen/caught ratio widening (a lot of shiny check, then let the plus attempt the catch ..)
