You have another week .. current event ends on the 15th at 8am (assuming 14th May 1pm PDT)
Managed another shiny Meditite this morning while driving around gyms taking them over; only to lose them all within an hour (had 3 when woke up, added 9, lost 10)
OMG, I managed to get a shiny Makuhita yesterday via the GoPlus at the work spawn point; two shinies in the same day, both with the GoPlus
Shame I missed an Unown spawn this morning; however I was in another part of the city and would not have made it (even though Dunedin is small .. this was peak getting to work time)

Wow that's pretty lucky, congratulations!
Another 30 Makuhita caught at lunch time.
Along with 14 Meditite.
Nothing remotely shiny.
We Go Plussed a shiny Meditite on my son's alt account this morning. He was not impressed, because he still hasn't caught one for his main. This is why I only run one account myself, lol.

Running an alt account seems like it would be a lot of extra work. Are the benefits worth it?
I've seen one local player that seems to have a bunch of accounts, with each username being a rearranged version of his main username. They're all in the same team as I often see him use up multiple spots in gyms, which must really annoy his team mates.
Most of the players I know have more than one. Personally, I don't have the energy (or the spare devices) to run a second account. They can come in handy at raids when you don't have quite enough people. Some people make one on a different team and use it to shave their team members out of gyms so they can put their own Pokemon in, which isn't on, in my opinion. Multi-accounting is against the TOS, but I think a lot of people do it just because they ran out of things to do on their main account. Griffin created his out of boredom. Or so they can hold gyms longer - a full, fully-motivated gym is slightly less likely to be knocked over quickly than a lone Blissey.

I play my daughters account alongside mine from time to time if there's something she desperately needs and isn't available to get (lives with her mother most of the time) and find that gets too hard to keep track of, let alone having an alt of my own.
I don't consider there to be any specific benefit as such to running multiple accounts as you have to do all the same things anyway.
Filling up gyms with your multiple accounts is just a nuisance for others, as is shaving your own team mates.
@littleheaven You know the local players better than me, so maybe you can tell me if this is just one player with multiple alt accounts or if each are real players. The usernames I've seen are Ashdameth, EthDamAsh and DamAshEth (I screen capped each player in a gym so that I'd remember the names). I've seen another variation of this name but I didn't screen cap it.
Oh, I don't know those ones, but yes, bound to be all the same person. I sometimes run Griffin's account for him - he often runs off to play at the park and leaves me holding the phones. And he's had a couple of Mewtwo passes during school time so I have proxied for him at the raids. Thankfully yesterday's was at 4pm so he got to catch his 98% Mewtwo himself. I'm glad I didn't have the pressure of doing that one for him!

I have a "dig" at some local players who run another account for a "family member" who just never comes out to play; if they didn't spend time catching everything twice, then maybe they would be level 40 by now.
Did my first Latios raid at lunchtime; halfway through the raid we noticed that our damage wasn't counting and Latos wasn't hitting us ..
Let the timer run out, received Error (30) and then received a reward of 3000 stardust and a rare candy (as per the event). Two of the players then have phone issues so we couldn't go back into the raid - tried a 4 man, but we just ran out of time .. as a result, no successful Latios attempts yet
This week everyone seems to be so savage at taking over gyms; I've been doing an hour or two of gym takedowns before work, and then only manage to last an hour or two on them; I think I need to head out with others to take them down rather than going solo ...
Yes, that extra gym badge XP is making everyone extremely motivated. Also all those "battle in a gym" and "use a super-effective charged move in a gym" quests giving out sweet, sweet stardust. This morning I took out a gym I never normally touch because I had one of each to complete.

The shinies just keep on coming; walking back to work from a double Latios raid I managed to get my second shiny Magikarp - Level 3, between 9 and 18% IVs (powered up to Level 4 in order to try and get a better read on the IVs)
Makes up for only getting one Latios - and a bad one at that..
Congrats! Shinies seem to be an all or nothing proposition. I caught another Makuhita while sitting in front of the TV last night. My son is up to over 600 Swablu, and 600 Makuhita and Meditite combined without a shiny. He is very salty.
I noticed last night that raids have been extended by two hours and now finish at 9.30pm. My raid crew went nuts, lol. They were all very late to dinner, I think.
