Anyone having issues with their system rebooting or worse turning off completely when trying to open games. Haven't been able to play any games like Astro, Bugsnax, Miles Morales or other PS4 games ever since getting the unit. Getting error CE-108262-9 and CE-108255-1 when this happens.

Have finished Spiderman Remastered, Spiderman MM and now playing through Days gone.
Still haven't had any crashes - so I would say you might have a dodgy console.

Has it been fully updated?

Yes, system is fully updated with the new firmware released yesterday. It seems that Sony can't be buggered to replace unit with the situation with stocks right now. EB doesn't have replacement units in stock too.

They don't have a choice, it's their legal obligation.

Open a ticket with Sony support.

They will have some stocks for replacements for major faults.

Already called them last Monday and no updates until today. Will call them back later this day and see what happens. Yeah I know that launch day consoles will be buggy af but not to a point that it looks like it's a hardware issue. Didn't experience issues with a launch day PS2 for both the phat and slim one. Had issues a year old from launch PS4 pro though. This sucks. Haha.

Sounds like Sony are saying it's software based after all so I guess waiting it out a few weeks is an option if returning it was too much of a drama.

Was just reading up on the reddit mega thread about it, couple of solutions there you could try.
Seems like a massive problem for some people - I wonder what causes it....

already rebuilt the database and doing a factory os install via USB and still the same, Playstation support is not very helpful at all. Called them Monday to report the issue and been providing them updates with screenshots and videos and the issue hasn't been escalated yet. Just annoying tbh.

Call your retailer. Speak nicely but firmly to the manager. Ask them to replace it.

Sony support were great for me.  They were hard to get hold of but when I finally go through they were happy to replace my PS5 and had ample spare stock.  I had a different error to you though.

Are these available anywhere in NZ yet?! It’s Christmas. You’d have thought they’d have more by now.

They did, and they sold out too.

So filling in all these “let me know when this is back in stock “ things - including the one in Sony’s own website - serves no function at all then, it seems.

Doesnt seem to. The launch notification on mightyape did nothing for me which is why I ended up having to get it from the warehouse. First time there for a very long time picking it up.

My PS5, bought on Day 1, recently developed an intermittent ‘stick drift’ fault on the bundled DualSense controller. When I googled this I found that a number of people around the globe have also already experienced this with the PS5 controller. Apparently it’s common on the older DualShock 4 controller but usually when it’s getting old and has had a hard life.

This morning I took the controller back to Noel Leeming and somewhat to my surprise they simply took a brand new standalone unit out of stock and handed it to me, keeping the faulty one. The guy who served me understood what stick drift is, so I didn’t even have to go into a long explanation about the fault. Fortunately they had one in stock.

The whole thing was done in a matter of minutes and with a total absence of fuss. Given comments here on GZ regarding Noel Leeming and product faults, CGA etc, I was pretty impressed with this - not to mention pleased.

The main issue arising from my earlier post is the possibility that the DualSense may be developing a fault fairly early in its lifecycle - compared to the DualShock 4.

Has anyone's camera adapter turned up yet? The email said 6-12 business days and it's been 15.

A month later... anyone got one yet?

Nice to see it being handled nicely by local retail. By comparison, the stick drift issue on the Nintendo Switch is a NIGHTMARE to remedy. Officially, Nintendo still don't fully acknowledge the issue which has plagued users since its launch, and there is no replacement scheme or authorised repair agent in New Zealand, so you have to send it away to Australia. The whole process from start to finish takes about six weeks which is pretty sub-par.
