amazon had a black friday sale, they were USD$30 and only worked for US accounts.  I was considering getting one but I bought a game instead :)

2.1 million units sold as at the end of November. Fark. Not surprised they couldn't meet demand with those sort of numbers.

Does anyone have the vertical stand? wondering whether to get one.

Also the Fatso gamesclub has PS4 (and xbone) games for $1.99/day for december and january if anyone was interested. new releases are usually $2.99.

Please excuse me if this has already been addressed, but I can't find it using search.

My son is playing BF4 and trying to use online chat with the mono headset that came bundled with the console. He can hear okay but the mic doesn't seem to be working. Tried the blue switch on the headset and looked for settings within the game and also the main PS4 settings. Are we missing something obvious or is it more likely a hardware defect?

If you have a spare pair of headphones that come with most mobile phones you could use those to rule out a faulty earpiece otherwise my friend had a similar issue where he wasn't pressing the connector into the controller far enough, his wife fixed it and I'm not going to let him hear the end of it.

Thanks for that. I just tried the PS headset in my phone and it doesn't register at all. Seems to be quite a large shoulder at the base of the 3.5mm connector. Have the phone earpiece ready to try, just have to get a gap in the battle to try it!

Okay, so the earpiece off my son's desire X works perfectly. Honestly, if Sony can only bundle such a crappy accessory, why do they bother?

I get "an error has occurred" when I try to look at the Store, and I get "PSN is undergoing maintenance" when I try to see whether my account is active. I imagine that it'll get sorted though.

Playstation Now looks awesome.

Like Netflix for games!

Hopefully they will launch sooner in NZ and see past the (incorrect) perception that we have bad internet.

Given they can't be bothered even implementing a proper local content mirror, I don't see it happening any time soon.
