12 hours into Valhalla and just finished Norway last night.  The AC Valhalla opening credit has just appeared LOL.  This is going to be a loooooooong one.

I loved Black Flag, and Odyssey (I can't recall a game of it's type I spent more time on), but all the game play of the combat etc, looks like I wouldn't really enjoy it as much.

I do like that sort of game though, though the setting doesn't appeal either.

Odyssey was a unicorn in that respect.

Glad to hear it. I like games like this, though games like Hitman, don't really appeal the same way, or thief etc. I like games where I have options on how to solve.

Yep - some time ago I tried a demo of Hitman - didn't like it at all.

I've been playing Age of Empires III definitive edition on game pass. I've had a bit of a break from gaming but it's too hot to do much outside at the moment. AOE4 is released on the 28th of October so it seemed a good chance to revisit a game I enjoyed.

The plot/cut scenes are still pretty lame but the gameplay holds up. There's a reason that it was such a successful game in 2005.

The remaster is great and the gameplay looks pretty decent in 1440p. I'm enjoying it and will probably play through all 3 campaigns.

I'll take a look. The remaster of Command and Conquer got good reviews, but I actually found it very average, but I do enjoy some RTS.

Still ploughing my way through Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Got round to adding the Ireland dlc. It's recommended fur player lever 55 which is 400 lower than my character. Even for a gaming klutz like me it's quite a breeze!

Siege of Paris next.

I have been playing Desperados 3 as part of Game Pass on Xbox (God the value of this is insane). What a fantastic little game. I have managed to complete 6 levels so far, and I am taking SO much longer and not hitting any of the extra reward type targets, but it's still fun. @eracode this might be up your alley.

As mentioned earlier, I got my hands on a copy for PS4 - now a few hours in. Really enjoying it - it's different.

Soon after starting, I thought 'this looks very familiar' - the overall style, isometric perspective and that cone field-of-view thing. Did some research and found that it's extremely similar to a game called Commandos that I played, and loved, on PC way back around 1999. Had almost forgotten it but when I saw some gameplay videos, it all came back to me. That was an excellent game at the time but basic compared to D3. D3 has much advanced the gameplay with its 'showdown' mode and so on. Great little game and good lock-down fodder. Tricky though, eh.

Started the expansion for Ghost of Tsushima last night.  It's great to be back in that world but no surprise I've completely forgotten how to play it effectively.

Beautiful game - played the 'enhanced for PS5' version of the original some months ago. I've often gone for 100% completion (eg Assassin's Creed games) but this is only game where I was motivated to go further and try for all trophies - and got them. I've sold the disc now but probably wouldn't have gone for expansion anyway.

Just remembering that the combat mechanic was excellently thought-out and mastering the different stances and moves took some doing with my ageing twitch reflexes - but I did manage it. As you say, those could easily be forgotten if not played for a while.

I am looking forward to this, espcially now I have some time to play it due to lockdown. Even though it says install, the option is not available yet for me.

I have worked it out now and it is downloading. Had to change the pick list to Beta.

It's pretty and remastered nicely, but the gameplay, I dunno, I don't seem to love it the way I used to. I don't like the fact the map ends up fog of war from scratch each time you load up etc. I had a pretty stable experience overall. the limited storage space for collecting items was annoying me a lot. I think it's somewhat unlikely I'll buy it at release if at all.
