Long story short, thought I had an order for a Collectors Edition with EB Games but they screwed up big time and now I don't.  So looking at the best place to get a standard copy from.  Based in Lower Hutt.  Looking for PS3 version.  Below are the options I see and the cons of each:

EB Games - Won't buy from them ever again.  And more expensive.
DSE - Also dearer

All $99-100:
JBHifif - Have to go into town, parking a nightmare
Mighty Ape - Charge for delivery, may not get on the day
The Warehouse - Apparently don't do pre orders
Harvey Norman - Either don't know price or can't be bothered looking up for me. Not on their website.
Noel Leeming - Best bet? Also get 4 Flybuys (YAY! - but still better than nothing....)

Any thoughts/experiences people can share specifically around pre orders, or other outlets to suggest?

Yeah I was going to say that. You could email them to confirm this perhaps.

I have heard that generally they do, but sometimes it can be a few days before it arrives. Not sure if that is the exception or the rule though. Given I have launch day off I would really like to have it that day :)

Probably best bet to get it from Noel Leeming. The warehouse will probably have enough stock just to get on launch day. But if you want the security of the pre order probably Noel Leeming.

Any confirmed midnight launches around yet? Might pay to wait and see if there are any, don't want to waste a minute of those 3 days off.

AFAIK there aren't any, have done a few midnight launches before and they are good fun. JB think they might, but not sure (when I last checked, will give them another call tomorrow).

3 points unless you buy something else to knock it over that $100 mark and no I don't think paying with cash does the trick. Noel Leeming are cunning like this.

If you just want the standard edition I wouldn't be too worried about pre-ordering it, just rock on up to the Warehouse in the morning and you'll get it no sweat.

I'd be keen to know if the car handling is going to be most similar to GTAIV or GTA SA

True, 3 points unless I spend a little extra.  With the pre-order you get a code to unlock a blimp in-game, so I figure I might as well.

I'll be in the states when it comes out. Seems much cheaper there. Is there any reason I wouldn't just buy the ps3 version whilst I am there rather than wait till I come back?
