Not really into all these Sim games out now (Goat Simulator FFS?), but I do enjoy this one. It reminds me of an ancient text-based shareware game called Big Rigs I used to play off a floppy on my 286 PC in the late 1980's.
Work as a truck driver earning money to buy your own truck and build up your own Trucking business. Driving is relaxing, you are not racing but it still is an addictive game driving through that interesting European scenery and visiting all those famous cities. A huge open world to explore. Graphics are good enough to be immersive, just not cutting edge.

There is (like the olden days shareware) a free demo available which is actually a good part of the game, but at US$6.25 for just the next 3 days (75% off) I suggest you grab the full version for the price of a coffee and a muffin.

Only a 633MB download too.

It is really relaxing to just drive along listening to music. You can use your own music or listen to internet radio. It's something that you might dismiss initially but is actually pretty good

I ended up playing that game a year or so back. After 1 hour i started to mod the trucks. First got the best looking one and gave it 5000HP and 12000lb of torque. Put it in 16th gear and drop the clutch. Instant 400 KPH. Yeah. That ended quickly for me.

I've been playing truck sims for a very very long time!! Starting with Hardtruck and 18WoS ages ago.

Being European I was frustrated about a few unrealistic representations of the gaming world by the software vendor SCS, and I started the ProMods team in order to expand and improve the default gaming world to a more realistic setting.
Funnily enough this was noticed by the game's developers: SCS in Czech Republic and they invited me over to Prague for a chat. Now having been to Prague twice and soon to be going for a 3rd time I actually "work" for them as an independent consulting helping them improve this game.

I bought the game recently on Steam for around $6, and enjoy it.... it is an oddly relaxing simulator, just cruising along the highways, watching out for the muppets that dont indicate, cut you off, brake at the last moment... :)
