I put WoT in the same category of Hearthstone, as in it's a great game when you have two monitors and you're doing something else at the same time.

Still can't understand how it gained such a large following in Korea though.

It's fun enough to play with friends, frustrating to be stuck in random teams with seemingly incompetent teammates though, hah. It has a massive following in Russia, and other parts of Europe. Lots of frustrating gameplay 'decisions' from the dev team it seems, but eh, I enjoy it from time to time.

I agree with you there, nothing worse than being stuck in a team with someone who just hides in a bush in the corner of the map.

As for needing two monitors thats exactly what I do,

WOT is another one of those games, that i always question... what the hell is the draw to it?

over the years i have tried it multiple times, given it a good run and just never really felt into it. Maybe its just not the game for me... - Aside from FPS games, the MMOs etc that draw me in are often the more unique but less known sorts.. Not sure what it is, but bignames tend to turn out to be steaming piles of turd.

i must say, WOT works as one good metric... when you talk about latency to them, most people know some value to compare to..

I played Hearthstone just long enough to get my Hearthsteed mount for World of Warcraft and that was that. I'd rather play MTG thanks.

Oddly, my LoL rank pvp addicted 17 year old plays Hearthstone all the time. She was waffling on about how OP the Priest deck was last night while I was like 'Yes that's nice and Imma let you finish but I need to gank this guy now.'  (I was playing WoW)

Ive been playing it for the last couple of weeks via the iOS app on the ipad. The PC version that I have seen screen shots of looks pretty good.

I decided to stick the the German stream (can also go Chinese and American) and my favourites have been the DW2 and the Hetzer.
As soon as you go up a level, so do the tanks you play against and the next level up from those 2 is quite a bit harder.

That's nearly twice as many battles as I've played, but it amazes me to see people with 50k+ battles fought at times!

I play the free version on the PC from time to time, and occasionally the iPhone version.

I was a fairly avid WoT player until I was tricked into moving to the SEA server. 1 week after moving my ping dropped to unusable levels, so my play now consists of 3 - 4 games a month. I have a couple of tier 8 tanks but they are not nearly as much fun as my little Valentine AT and M3 Stuart.

WTFast genuinely helps speeds but it annoys me that I would have to pay extra to play. So I'm in the War Gaming gets no money from me till they sort it out camp.

World of tanks player here.

Always keen to find more kiwis who play. I love the game and love to help teach people to get better. Great FPS for 30+ as you don't need twitch reflexes to be good and once you know the basics it gets easier.

Any other kiwis please feel free to look me up ingame. I'm on the NA west server.

I don't play nearly as much as I used to but have about 5k battles.
I now only play on Thursday nights, have a few drinks and platoon with some Aussie mates.

I think I'm a better player than my stats suggest, I just get bored of campers sometimes and do a Leeroy.

When the routing goes via Japan and you end up on 250+ it's not much fun.  I use Astrill which usually drops it to 170ish (on different days different servers are better).  The thing I like about Astrill over WTFast is that I can use PingPlotter on several servers before loading the game so I know which is going to give me the best result.

You should grind that IS-8 and get the IS-7 - it's my default Clan Wars tank.
I have the M48 - don't play it much at all (I also have the M60)

If you want a fun tank to play, try the tier4 Marder 38T. It's an amazing little TD...

I actually play on NA with a ping of 130/140ms.
ISP I am with is Flip.
I just emailed BigPipe ISP whose plans look amazing (parent company being Spark) but alas their ping to NA west is around 180.

Does the SEA server have lower pings than 170ms at all?

Hoping Fibre will elevate some of the ping and latency issues in the future.
