Hi all

My workmate wants a 360 or PS3 for her 6yo boy, to use with the Kinnect or the Eye, for sports games, including karate.

Recommendations for the best platform? I'd assume the best option will be the one with the best game range. Do the Kinnect and Eye operate as well as each other or is one much better? Graphics and smoothness are similar on these platforms?

Cheers

my 4 year old loved the kinect theatre games, also the lego games.  he also liked the shoot out game on the ps3 with the motion controllers.

so either one would be fine, i'd go for the best deal.

The eye would need a move pheripheral to work for motion controlled games. I would go with the Kinect for the 6 year old since he wouldn't need a controller ( i.e. less chance of breaking anything)

Smoothness would have to go to the ps eye/move. but game library, for motion controls, Kinect wins.

Consider wii or wii u as well for the best range of motion games. No camera though if that is a specific requirement.

Of the two, I'd say xb360 over PS3 for the support/range of games for the camera, but I don't have hands on experience.

if you go for the xbox 360 with Kinect, I have a 360 with 250gb to sell (i'm in akl) that has had very little use. couple of controllers, Kinect games including Disneyland adventures, Kinect sports 1, Kinect sports 2, Kinect adventures.

I replaced this with xbox one, and I still have a second 360 (no Kinect) that I use as media center extender in another room

considering any reasonable offers :-)
