Hi,

I currently have a PS4 and an Xbox One in my living room.

I am thinking I might get a PS4 Pro and (next year) an Xbox One Scorpio to go in the living room, and move the existing consoles to the bedroom.

Does anyone know the ins and outs of having multiple consoles signed in with the the same PSN and MS accounts? Will I run into issues?

Thanks

You will need two accounts if you both want to be online at the same time on the same kind of system.

I used to have a couple of Xbox 360s and a PS3 in our flat, and had no end of issues with conflicting connections. Required a router with a solid UPnP implementation to sort that. No idea whether it is still an issue with the newer consoles.

Hmmm.... can you share Xbox Gold and PS Plus benefits with additional accounts, do you know?

I'm the only one who games, but the missus uses the consoles for things like Netflix, TVNZ OD, Lightbox etc. so very likely that two of the same kind of console will be online at the same time.

I hadn't even considered that being an issue, I was thinking more along the lines of using a single account for multiple consoles.

But now that you've mentioned that, when I look into it people have had all sorts of issues with multiple consoles on a single LAN (PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One) so it is obviously still an issue.

Next question:

For both Xbox One (with XBox Gold) and PS4 (with PS Plus). Do save games auto upload to the cloud?

I'd want to be able to sit down in either the living room or bedroom and continue playing regardless of where I last played. Ideally I'd want to do this without any manual syncing of save games etc.

You will be able to share a PSN account between 2 consoles.

This is how you need to setup your PS4 and PSN accounts.

A) Main PS4 - Sub PSN account set as Primary on this console, but logged onto your Main PSN account

B) Sub PS4 - Main PSN account set as Primary on this console, but logged onto secondary PSN account

Only the PS4 logged onto the main PSN account with PS+ will be able to auto upload save games to PSN for backups.

This means that:

- You only need 1x PS+ subscription

- You only need to buy 1x Digital games to play on 2 consoles

- Both of the consoles will be able to play online on the same game at the same time

This setup works with Xbox One as well, although I do not know how many consoles you can use at the same time.
