Does anyone know if the Jasper consoles are selling in New Zealand? Does anyone own one?

BUMP: i would also like to know any further info. i have been told at this point its a bit hit and miss. the power supply is supose to be the give away. the jasper consoles are supose to only have a 12.1amp power supply and the falcons are more 12.4 amp from memory. but saying that no reason why they wouldnt use up the old power supplies from the falcons and use em with the new jaspers until they are all sold through.

I been doing some reading. People are saying that you will have more luck getting a jasper with the arcade consoles. and perhaps those xmas bundle packs. but couldnt say for sure

any body got some clear answers on this?

An Xbox modder informed me the Jaspers aren't available outside the USA, and in the USA they're only available in the Arcade consoles, so who knows if they'll ever arrive here.

ok did some asking around the last couple of days. no body thought jaspers were in the country.

well i though stuff it then i will just get a new box regardless. got it home. guess what jasper.

thats right jasper. got it from warehouse in bellblock new plymouth. the guy said only arcade models left i got him to look out the back one xbox pro left not the bundle or any thing. and it was the last one bingo i got me a jasper.

no games or anythign but well worth it. runs much quiter than my orginal launch xbox. :) so they are out there just keep hunting

What tells you that it has the Jasper core? The link I posted is a huge discussion on what is a Jasper core and how to find one, and the one tell-tale sign that it is a Jasper is that the console has a power rating of 12.1A. Apparently if it is not 12.1A then it is not a Jasper.

Are you able to take a look for us and post back on here if it does have a power rating of 12.1A.

Post the team, lot number and manufacturing date as well if you could too please just to get an idea of the full details.

Well done if it is a Jasper too, that's awesome!!!!!

I read the enitre 20 pages of posts on that thread last night. and yes mine is 12.1A. and yes it does have the sticker inside the grill.

the xbox and the power supply have 12.1A

the power cord looks like the one in the picture they show you for a jasper

the date of manafacture was dec 08 dont know exact date i have the wireless adapter downloading at the moment and it covers the dates and stuff. recovering all my stuff after my red ring a few weeks back.

trust me its a jasper

i will post them tormow as i dont want to interupt my downloading with the wirless adapter but as b4 its 12.1A with all the right markings chears get back to you tomorow with lot number etc

xbox pro with 60gb hard drive. no games its not a holiday pack its just the normal one. it says go pro on the box and its just the regular grey/white colour.

ok just had a look on the packaging not the xbox the packaging it says

In my opinion it would not be safe to say that the arcade versions should be jasper

i looked at three arcade versions in the warehouse i went to. they were all falcons the hire amps

while i was looking the guys said i think there are a few in the office. he went up and bought back a pro 60gb had drive no games i said i will take it as i wanted one any way with a hard drive. got it home and it was a jasper.

im thinking those holiday bundles were just to clear the old chipsets out. just my thoughts. oh yea i got a ps3 recently as well just b4 my xbox red ringed. the ps3 is still more silent than the jasper. but the jasper is still more silent than my release launch xbox. any way hope that helps man

Right so at this stage it seems a good place to start is looking at the plain Pro boxes, not with the games included, as heretohelp and superrex both got Jaspers from these packages.

I popped in to Dick Smith Wyndham St today and talked to a very knowledgeable guy there who knew all about Jasper Xboxes. He said they'd just sold their last Jasper box (an Arcade) but he even went to the trouble of calling two other nearby stores if they had any - I heard the conversations and he knew what information to be asking them to check (was great as it saved me two trips!).
He said that his store had sold most of their current Xbox ranges thanks to their recent sales and so in their next orders they would (in his opinion) be getting Jasper units - both Arcade and Pro - to be arriving *in the next week* (i.e. 9-13 Feb). Prices he said would be $320 for Arcade and $445 for Pro. I'm certainly going back in there, as I need 3 of the little suckers for clients to be media centre extenders!
