insi, you say that your PC1 connection is changed to another 192.168.0.x number. Does it mean your network is on this segment? If so, are you using a router? Is it possible that 192.168.0.1 is already in use in this network?

Check this article and pay special attention to the IP address conflict!

Mauricio,

I am a bit confuse.

Where do i need to specify 192.168.0.1? in the LAN tcip or Bluetooth network adapter on PC1?

At the moment, I specify 192.168.0.1, subnet 255.255.255.0 in bluetooth network adapter on PC1. (not Deft gateway or any DNS)

LAN tcpip i put as 192.168.0.13, subnet 255.255.255.0 (for example). No default gateway or any DNS.

Or Do I need to put the number the other way around?

Am I right 'enabled internet connection sharing' from the LAN?
because I also need to share files and internet with my PC2

I am not using a router.

Do I need to specify anything with bluetooth adaptor on the Laptop? or leave it automatically.

I have a feeling something wrong with my configuration now...

Thank you for your help.

insi, follow one of our guides from the top, without leaving any step behind. You'll see that you have to specific 192.168.0.1 in your Bluetooth adapter on your computer. The address on your card connected to the Internet doesn't matter. From the card connected to the Internet you use ICS to the Bluetooth adapter.

As I say in the Guides there's a bug in Windows 2000 that sometimes the address is changed in your Internet adapter. Don't worry, check and if it has changed to 192.168.0.1 change it back to the original address or to automatic.

Only the Bluetooth adapter can have this address. You can also enter the IP for the DNS servers on your Bluetooth adapter.

Okay let me clarify again.

PC1 LAN adapter TCP/IP 192.168.0.13, Subnet 255.255.255.0. Def Gate, DNS1, DNS2 are all BLANK.
Enabled ICS but NO option to bluetooth network connection.
Note: Last time after the patch there is but after I change bit here and there it was gone, probably i need to run the patch again. If still appearing then I choose bluetooth network, right?.

PC 1 Bluetooth adapter IP 192.168.0.1, subnet 255.255.255.0. DGateway = blank, DNS1 = my ISP, DNS2 blank.

LAPTOP bluetooth adapter I leave it automatic for Ip and DNS.

Are the above configuration is acceptable?

Thanks you.

By the way, do I need to share my modem and tick ICS?

Thanks.

Your description seems ok, and you can only have one ICS at a time, so don't worry about the modem.

You should have a dropdow list next to the Internet Connection Sharing checkbox, and the Bluetooth adapter should be there. If it's not there, then re-install the Bluetooth software.

Good Morning...

I already tested but the option from my PC1 LAN (192.168.0.13) to share with the bluetooth network was not appearing.
Only appears as enabled ICS so I ticked it.
The good news is when I enabled ICS, my bluetooth network ip change from automatically to 192.168.0.1 but I still couldn't share with the Laptop eventhough the ipconfig /all on Laptop default gateway connecting to 192.168.0.1 automatically. (by the way I setup my bluetooth on Laptop as automatically)

I uninstalled and reinstalled bluetooth software.
When I enable the PC1 LAN ICS again, it mentioned that there is a 192.168.0.1 on the network therefore I couldn't enable the ICS. Check with the Bluetooth IP and it was setup automatically.
I check from ipconfig /all and nothing appearing for that number.
So I change my bluetooth Ip from automatick to 192.168.0.2 and enabled ICS from LAN but still detecting that 192.168.0.1 is present.

I am using a SWITCH to share with my PC2. Probably this switch keep the ip information.

If I unplug this switch then I can enabled the ICS and change my bluetooth network IP on PC1 back to 192.168.0.1 but again I still couldn't share with the laptop.

Eventhough I ping from laptop to pc and the other way still no result.

I formatted my pc to windows 2000 and put the service pack 4.
Install bluetooth software and I setup my bluetooth on PC1 as automatically.
Setup my LAN PC1 (192.168.0.13) and enabled ICS and it was work but still NO sharing to bluetooth network connection option.
My bluetooth IP automatically change to 192.168.0.1.
Again, I still couldnt share files or internet with the laptop eventhough I paired and connecting successfully.

Uninstall the bluetooth software.
Reinstall software and enabled ICS, again it detect that 192.168.0.1 already on the network.

I formatted my pc to Windows XP Prof with SP1 and repeat the above steps still get the same result.

Any suggestion or comment?

Is there a way to find out whether or not 192.168.0.1 is on the network?
I remember last time I can use from command prompt to release the IP but I forget the command to use it.

I hope you understand all the above.

Please help me.

Thanks a lot for your help.
