Jase2985:

dont hold your breath

previous issues have taken months and months to fix

The problems with network discovery are long gone, thank goodness. The old netbios is back and it works fine.

OP, with network tab active, rt click the heading row and tick Network Discovery to display the discovery method being used. Useful check.

you say that, but then why does it work one day and disappear the next when you change nothing?

If it was an update problem I think I would have experienced it, or, at least, heard of several with the problem.

Of course, it could be caused by an update because of your specific setup.

Why not start another thread with more detail of your situation?

Actually I think I might be having the same or similar problem. At first a few months ago, windows started asking me for login details to get into the network shares of the other PC, and then stopped connecting altogether unless I reboot the PC I'm trying to connect with. Team viewer still connects fine to the server, but I can't get to the shared drives/folders.
