@Pearl62

Thanks. After uninstalling Intellipoint and reinstalling the widcomm stack, the mouse is not that slow anymore. However, I still have issues with reconnection. After the connection is lost (e.g., when screensaver turns on), the pc would not detect the mouse untill I take batteries out of the mouse and put them back. Overall, the mouse does not work as smoothly as under the microsoft stack :(

@antim

I find I have to wiggle the mouse to get it going agin, but otherwise it works fine. This is just the first version of the Widcomm stack with HID support, so maybe there's some more work for them to do...

Hey man, even if you can't post it here, would you send your faq/patch method to me? If you want, I have a copy of systran personal translator and could even translate your german faq for you to english. I would REALLY appreciate it. I am really really glad SOMEONE figured it out!

Thanks Bluetoothmaster. You can post a link to your guide, but I wouldn't post it here. You can open a new thread with a topic that refers to that, so others can find it.

I have an IBM thinkpad T30 with an internal Bluetooth Daughter Card. IBM licenses the widcomm stack but has not yet posted an update to widcomm 1.4.

Do you think downloading v1.4 from TDK and using with IBM's hardware would work? Has anyone tried this?

Thanks,
Aaron

Thanks to BluetoothMaster I was able to get widcomm 1.4 working on my IBM T30 with the internal Bluetooth Daughter Card. In turn I was able to install the microsoft Bluetooth mouse and keyboard which sat dormant for the past 7 months!!!

However, like antim and pearl62 my mouse pointer is now slow and can lag substantially. I tried uninstalling both microsoft's intellipoint software and the widcomm stack, and then reinstalled the widcomm stack, but this did not solve the slowness problem.

Pearl62 or Antim would you mind posting more details on how you solved the slow mouse problem. Should I also uninstall the IntelliTYPE software? How did you go about uninstalling the widcomm software? Any details would be helpful.

Also, how do you pair the mouse? When I request a pairing, I'm asked to enter the PIN, but I don't know what the pin is. Where might I find the pin? Would pairing the mouse improve performance?

Thanks,
Aaron

I uninstalled Intellitype as well. I still get some slowness every once in a while, but in general it's pretty good.

BluetoothMaster... Can you send those files to me also> I have a A30p with built-in Bluetooth that I'd like to get going with 1.41... send to pearlsixtytwo@hotmail.com

@Btand

I only uninstalled Inteliipoint and widcomm bluetooth softaware (i don't have bluetooth keyboiard so no intellitype was installed). I also uninstalled all bluetooth HID devices in the device manager. Then I re-install the widcomm bluetooth softaware and that was it. The pointer is much more responsive now but the mouse buttons are still slow :(
You cannot pair the mircrosoft mouse - it does not require authentification (but the the keyboard does if you have one).

I think I've searched the ENTIRE internet (the same one Al Gore invented) for a solution to my MS bluetooth woes but this forum thus far has been the most usefull. From what I understand a couple of u have gotten the MS mouse to work with a different doggle. Have any of you managed to get the extra profiles with Widcomm software and the MS tranciever and mouse/Keyboard?

Dalph, thanks for the words...

Yes, apparently other users are now using the MS Bluetooth with other profiles: this thread will point you in the direction you need to go.

Hey can someone help me please?!?!?!

WIDCOMM security license site failed when i placed my details in for my DLink DBT120 bluetooth dongle. Now when i am retrying to place my mac address in the site it returns an error to the point that I cant get a security license code for the 1.4 software for my DLink DBT 120. DLink have been sooooo unhelpful to me in trying to rectify this. The support guy I called didnt even know about the latest drivers on their site and tried to convince me that a code wasnt needed. When i emailed him a screen shot of the software asking for the code he immediately stopped corresponding with me as if it was too hard. I mean too hard?!?!?! I just want a friggin number I'm not expecting a Cisco TAC level of support from this guy.

Anyways.. if anyone knows how I can sort this out as WIDCOMM dont seem to reply to support email either, or if anyone is nice enough to share their code I would be very appreciative. I'm not asking for anything illegal as such as I legitimately own a DLink DBT 120 bluetooth adapter and feel that I should be allowed to have the latest drivers for it.

Here is how to get BTW 1.4.1.6 to work with no serial number or MAC address:

1. Download the 1.3.2.7 version from this Acer support site: ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/network/acer/acer/test/bt500_1327.exe

2. Extract the package but don't install it, then copy the license.dat

3. Download the 1.4.1.6 version from this site: http://www.goalray.com/message/BTW-1.4.1.6.zip
(DO NOT install the 1.4.1.6 version from the D-LINK support site. IT WILL NOT WORK)

4. Replace the license.dat in the 1.4.1.6 by the one you got from the 1.3.2.7

5. Install the 1.4.1.6 package, neglect the license error meeages, and click cancel for the browse for the license.dat file. (DO NOT click on the bluetooth icon yet)

6. Now you will need a HEX editor program to change some offsets in the btsec.dll file. The file will be in this directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\

the changes should be as follows:
Offset 000043EE: old Value: 754E, new Value: 9090
Offset 00004402: old Value: 753A, new Value: 9090
Offset 00004408: old Value: 7439, new Value: 9090

After changing the offsets, replace the old btsec.dll with the altered one.

7. Restart the computer and everything should work fine.

P.S. This made the microsoft dongle work and for sure it will make the D-LINK work.
If you want to know the steps on how to make the Microsoft dongle work, please read my postsin the other forum: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=8&TopicId=368

let me know if it didn't work
