WIDCOMM security license site failed when i placed my details in for my DLink DBT120 bluetooth dongle. Now when i am retrying to place my mac address in the site it returns an error to the point that I cant get a security license code for the 1.4 software for my DLink DBT 120. DLink have been sooooo unhelpful to me in trying to rectify this.

You can download the software directly from DLINK without any code if you want to use with your DBT 120: this page will let you download the drivers, without having to enter anything.

Hey Protos.. thanx for the reply.. I downloaded the Goalray driver and it seems to have worked straight away... strange as it detected my dbt 120 as a CSR USB bluetooth device and hey presto.. so I didnt need the hacks that the MS dongles required but the method is handy knowledge anyways. I'll do some testing and post in here if the driver has any weird malfunctions or side effects when running as a CSR USB dongle.

freitasm I downloaded that driver but upon install it asked me for a widcomm security license ID. Anyways I'm fine with a CSR detection..

Oh i did notice that the driver now installs a headset and audio gateway.. I've tried to get this working to use my pc as a handsfree for my sony T610 but didnt seem to work as it connects but then disconnects straight away.. :( If anyone else has any experience with this new feature it'd be much appreciated.

bigteethygrin,

Yeah, I've noticed that downloading the BTW 1.4.1.6 from D-LINK doesn't work, but I am glad the Goalary one worked without any patches or hacks.

Sorry, I've never tried the headset or the audio gateway functions, but I will be more than happy to read other users' experiences with them.

Problem with the mouse ;-(((

So far everything works fine, the widcomm software is finding the ms bt stick and my mobile phone. Great.

My problem is now, the bt ms keyboard works good as you see, but the mouse isn't doing any move. It shows up in the software and widcomm did find it, but in control panle there is only hid keyboard and no mouse at all. So, finally I'm using the keyboard mouse at the moment.

Did anyone hear about such a problem and can help???
Many thanks

someone knows how to bypass the error:

Your WIDCOMM bluetooth Software license does not include use on this operating system. [-35]

when installing either 1.3 or 1.4 over windows server 2003 ?

thanks in advance.

anyone have the 1.4.1.6 stack? The version from the chineese site went down. if someone can e-mail it to aj@synthesissoftware.com it would be helpful. I'm having a nightmare with the bluetooth card in my IBM ThinkPad T30 and the microsoft bluetooth mouse. Are there any other bluetooth mice that I can get as an alternative?

So where is the TDK port of 1.4?

This thread started in May sometime and it is now October.

The TDK web site still only shows the 1.3 zip file for download.

TIA

If it is any help, I have seen quite a difference in performance with the Microsoft mouse, even between different revisions of the D-link dongle. I tried 1.4.1b6 on a rev A dongle, as well as on the built-in Bluetooth of my IBM A30p and both seem to have sluggish response to mouse actions. My D-link rev B3 dongle works fine though...

LittleGreyCat, I'm too waiting for the TDK official drivers. I'm using the beta 1.4.1, and although it's fine (except slow Microsoft mouse sometimes), I can see they already have the 1.4.10 beta - so they keep doing things, but the target moves too I guess.

Shame - I use a Logitech cordless mouse and keyboard, and even in perfect working order, having an all Bluetooth solution would be cool.

Perhaps moving to the Logitech product just announced, which includes a real Bluetooth adapter/software combination, unlike the Microsoft half delivered solution?

Seeing as you mentione it.....

I have a Logitech cordless mouse and I have no idea what wireless technology it uses.

It doesn't seem to conflict with my Bluetooth or 802.11b or DECT phones.

It isn't BT because it doesn't show up in a scan.

Yes, it would be nice to have a BT mouse to cut down the USB wire tangle - will the TDK dongle support multiple simulatnoues connections? I know my Nokia phone will not.

LittleGreyCat, the cordless Logitech products use a radio transmiter with a proprietary protocol, not Bluetooth.

Their new Bluetooth mouse and keyboard comes with a USB Bluetooth adapter.

Regarding the TDK, yes you can have multiple connections: up to 7 clients connected to the LAN service, or other types of clients connected at the same time the mouse and keyboard are connected.

I found this today - it appears to be a link to a TDK driver for 1.4.2.10 - I'm downloading it at the moment.

Anyone had a play with this already?

Version 1.4.2 build 10 is the version that Belkin is shipping with the new F8T001 hardware. So far it's working great on my PC.

Cheers

I downloaded it and tried it - but it wouldn't recognise my TDK dongle, "no device foound" - so it's back to the official TDK 1.3.2.19 for the moment.
