My network issue seems to have come back up again.

I use IRC quite a bit and months ago I had an issue where I would constantly disconnect from all the IRC networks that I use and also the IM networks like MSN, Google Talk and Facebook, I dont remember exactly what was done but it seemed to go away.

Now it has come back again and it is getting extremely annoying for me, I have swapped the main 3 ethernet cables in my network to other ones but the issue continues to happen and its driving me up the wall, also disconnected everything from my switch in my room and also the small 8 port one in the cabinet downstairs.

Does anyone have any thoughts on where I could go from here?

Your previous discussion about IRC drops... You never replied in that discussion with the result back then. Did changing the switch temporarily solve the problem (seeing it's back now)?

If it solved the problem back then, what changed?

Oops, Thought I had replied, well to be honest im not sure what I did but it fixed it.
I have so far today replaced the 3 main ethernet cables in my network, removed the 8 port gigabit switch much to the annoyance of my brother and then also put my backup Asante switch in place of my Tenda gigabit one, so far so good, but its still driving me up the wall.

Router configuration? Antivirus/antispyware interfering?

Nothing has been changed in my router since I setup it up over 160 days ago.
Its not just this one pc that its affecting, I tried another pc which has a totally different AV and it had the same fault.

Install wireshark and run a capture session whilst you are running these apps and hopefully you will be able to see the cause of the session disconnects. Could be many different things.

Matt.
