150mbit, this would infer your actually referring to your wireless speed? cant think of any 150mbit connections vodafone do otherwise.

is this the case?

Possibly, inwhich case, is irrelevant to lag.

need to know the technology, and the environmental influences brought upon it.. (eg. dlm profile, or congestion..)

I'm guessing he is referring to MilliSECONDS. Related to lag and affecting his game play.

vodafone boardnad cable, on there fastest speed, which i think is there

  • 130Mbps/10Mbps connections
xbox one cat5 to netcom wireless router that was supplied by vodafone.

connection to AUS server is saying 57ms within the game (before joining a lobby/game) but when I'm in game, there are bad lag times. Also getting issues with going to some sites, like dans isn't working correctly.

57ms from where?

sounds about right.

so your getting "bad lags"? by this i assume your refering to jitters or spikes?

Is your connection possibly being used to upload or download large amounts of data at the same time?

Good to see your using wired, that cuts out any wireless issues to blame...

Sites not loading/ Slow to start loading is a separate issue, and likely an issue with the Transparent Proxy.

no downloading on this connection, only gaming (PC/Xbox) and even then its like 3 of us max (live with sister and her two kids) i keep very tight control on what they do on the internet. I was thinking it could be a router, with all the data going in and our could i need a more robust router? nephew on pc gaming TF2 isn't showing any issues (and he would tell me)

i still say congestion is your likely cause.

you could try changing the cable, but if your lag free on the computer, that narrows it down.... to the xbox...

Your story keeps changing. in the thread your writing along side this, you have written "i have there 130mbit connecttion, and a number of flatmates." now you have said "like 3 of us max (live with sister and her two kids) i keep very tight control on what they do on the internet"
These statements contradict themselves...

also, in this day, you cant game online and state there is "no downloads done on this connection" thats complete hogwash. TF2, has an update Weekly, sometimes even Daily.

your router is only going to process whats pumping through it, which is not 130mbit constantly.. for gaming alone, anything over about 2mbit/2mbit is Plenty, even if your hosting the game over P2P.

When people talk about downloads, people are not talking about tf2 updates, people are talking torrents downloading linux ISO's (/s), and usenet. Flatmates / live with sister and two kids, shouldn't matter how i say it, cause it still means i live with a number of people, so no my story isn't changing. i may plug cable modem directly into xbox and see what happens.

its all in the definition and what it infers.

living with family, you have a sizeable better level of control over say, a flatmate.

it just presents itself as rather odd you would put two in posts pretty-much straight after each other.

An update can cause lag spikes, clearly not consistent ones to be fair..

So, lets start with some basic diagnosis..

Is the lag only present at certain times of the day?

What sort of results do you get from Pingtest.net?

While the "lag" periods are ongoing, if you run a Speedtest (to a local server) do you notice a sizeable (not talking a little mbit here or there on the download...) drop in bandwidth compared to normal?

Try running a "ping -t trademe.co.nz" While undergoing a gaming session and see if there is increases in latency there at the same time you feel "lag" ingame. While not the most Accurate test, this will likely point out if its something overall, or limited to your xbox since trademe is reasonably well peered, it should be pretty consistent.

I would suggest traceroutes to the server your currently connecting to, but that is difficult to figure out considering your on an xbox.

I think the address of the Australia Titanfall server is oi.stryder.respawn.com. You might try running the ping on that address while playing.
