Hi,
I'm trying to use my HBH-35 headset with a D-Link DBT-120 and my problem is the headset is not discovered by the dongle. My headset is revision B3 (came with CD 3.10) so I uninstalled the drivers 1.2.2.15 and downloaded the appropriate 1.4.1.6 (case 2) drivers from the UK support site and this did'nt work as the bluetooth symbol stayed red and each time I tried to add devices to my bluetooth environment, I need to enter the security code I received by email but this was refused every time. So I uninstalled this one and installed the other driver (case 1)
My problem now is I can't find my hbh-35 headset in the bluetooth neighbourhood, though my 3650 is paired without any problems.

Tried your guide from this site as well but it says :"In this article we're using an Ericsson HBH20 and a TDK USB Bluetooth (version 1.3.2.7). We assume your devices are already paired. If not, do it first, then come back here! " I couldn't pair the devices yet and D-Link support sucks big time, they're no use at all and don't have a clue what the problem might be.

I'm probably not doing something the right way but in my opinion the HBH35 can only be turned on/off (green pulse) and that's it. When I initiate a search of new devices in the bluetooth neighbourhood nothing shows up (my 3650 is turned off).

I still can't detect the hbh-35 although I erased all connexions and tried to detect the SE first, nothing appears.
What now ?

Most of the headsets have to be in discoberable mode. To put it in this mode you have to turn it off, wait a little the then press the On button and keep it pressed. After it's on you'll wait a few more seconds and it'll beep one more time and the LED should blink in a different way. Now you release the button and do a search from your computer.

Wow thanks Freitasm I finally managed to connect the HBH-35 by holding it's button long enough and putting it into 'discover mode' !
It works with all audio applications (MSN, Skype and Net2Phone) although the sound quality in the VOIP applications is very bad and I won't be able to use it. Any hints on this ?

The other problem I have now : I can't keep a serial connection with the Nokia 3650 although it's in my bluetooth neighboorhoud. The BT symbol turns green and I get a message but then the device closes the connection for some reason.
Does anyone know why ? Maybe it's because the connection message mentions COM0 port and in my BT config only port COM4 and COM3 are mentionned ?

Audio on Bluetooth 1.1 is not the best. Check CPU activity when the audio goes bad.

Also, the Nokia 3650 is not a problem, it's supposed to work like this. Check this article on how to configure.

Thanks ! When you say Bluetooth 1.1, do you mean USB 1.1 ? Do I need a USB 2.0, like a Kensington USB 2.0 adapter or is it really the Bluetooth version that needs to be 2.0 ?

Any buying advice for a Class 1 USB 2.0 Bluetooth 2.0 dongle ?
Thanks again !

Nope, not related to USB. The Bluetooth products currently in the market are built to the Bluetooth Specification 1.1. There's a new Specification 1.2, but products aren't in the market yet. It provides better frequency hopping control and better performance for some aspects.

You only need a 100m range device if your other device is also an 100m range device. Most phones, PDAs and headsets are only 10m, so don't use all the money on this if you don't need.

Now when I follow the instructions from the guide and try to check the COM port in m-router corresponding to the one in Local Services (COM3) I get an error message "It is impossible to enable the infrared port as it may be in use by another application".

I tried creating an additional Serial port (COM7) and checked it in the m-router (this worked) but it still does not work.
I'm sorry about all the trouble but I hope to be close to the final solution. ;-)

Did you install the Bluetooth before or after the Nokia software? Do you have any personal firewall running on this machine?

You might want to attempt a connection without the firewall running, or have it in learning mode. The mRouter assigns an IP to your phone, and acts as a sharing program. The firewall may be blocking some of the communications too.

Well, then something else is conflicting on your Windows system. Do you have an internal modem? This causes some problems too. It's all very cryptic, you see...

Is it normally referring to COM0 ?
