Im currently using Widcomm Bluetooth Software 1.3.2.7 and am finding that the tray icon when using anything in the menu doesn't work. Also finding that when using FMA it does connect like it used to, now having me to start serial port manually, and dropping connection after a while. Have re-installed it (widcomm) and on re-install some Windows XP thing also loaded, which refused to let Widcomm use the device. So I uninstalled the Windows thing.

Firstly does anyone have a link/file to the new software (if any). Im hoping that this will solve my problem.

I suspect that someof this is due to SP2 on WinXP.

Any help appreciated.

The problem you've described sounds more like a Windows issue. Perhaps you've added a new software or tried to install a version that wasn't the correct one, and this upset the whole balance of things.

Windows XP SP2 may - or may not be the answer. If your device is in the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Bluetooth certified list, and if you use only serial connections or file transfer, then that will be fine. Otherwise you'll have to find from the manufacturer about new software versions.
