Hi all

I was just seeing what products other members use to mount equipment in home data cabinets as not all equipment comes with push pins for mounting.

By Push pins I assume you mean rack mount?

I have a small wall mounted rack - in the bottom of that I have a small MDF shelf, that I have things sitting on. (Upgrade to a metal shelf is on the cards)

For items that have a screw mount that allows them to be wall mounted, those items usually get wall mounted (Thinking the router in this instance)

Some home rack cabinets have something more like pegboard on the back of them, and the parts that attach have a pin that goes into the hole and then grips, so they only work with the gear with the right pegs and spacing. Just a way to make it all propriatary and allow them to sell way overpriced 8 port baby patch panels and obsolete 100 megabit switches to suckers.

I have just seen cable ties used in most of them.

I thought cable ties would be the go. Like the velcro idea as well.

The data cabinet is a Teubel EZDV900 with push pin hole diameter at 6.35mm - www.trical.co.nz

why would you go for one of those over a proper home network enclosure? from the likes of signet who are owned buy the same people.

The data cabinet I was replacing had a large cutout (400mm wide - The studs in that garage were 500mm apart attached to the block wall) so I needed a bigger cabinet than the usual ones you get from Dynamix etc.

I wanted the signet ST4010 but when Radcliffs got in touch with Trical, Trical said that the ST4010 had been replaced by the EZDV900 and it was Trical's recommendation to go for the Teubel cabinet. The inside of the Teubel looks like any other home data cabinet I have seen.
