So I’m connected to my Vodafone access point which is connected to my Vodafone router. I’m online via this on my phone.

My laptop does not show my access point while sitting in the same spot.

So phone is okay laptop not.

Any ideas why?

the laptop doesnt support the wifi channel that you currently have set

set channel, 1, 6, or 11 for 2.4ghz

36, 100, are generally good for 5ghz, there are others i cant think of them off the top of my head

Can your laptop see any other wifi networks? Like the neighbours.

Other than logining in to your router and setting the WiFi channel to one your laptop supports (to fix the problem for the foreseeable future) you can also just power off the router and power it back on which will make it jump to a different WiFi channel (most of the time), until it jumps again either due to power loss or a reboot or because it just feels like it.

That's exactly the problem, changed it as suggested and it's worked.

The issue is, I've connected to the router but still can't see the access point. How can I fix this?

AFAIK Vodafone do not supply WiFi APs, so working out what the OP has will probably shed some light on why it's not working.

They do.

Not bad hardware from what I have been told by people with them.

The ones I have seen are 5GHz only, I cant remember what brand. They work OK but dont have a great range for obvious reasons.

Can we keep this on topic please so I can fix this issue.

Vodafone does offer an access point product, I'm using it and it's been linked above. I'm also not interested in the quality of this product and its range etc.  I know it's far from top end with regard to quality but it's perfect for what I need and why/how I access and use the internet.

Well, that was until yesterday.

So changing the WIFI channel on my main router has fixed the issue with my wifi network not showing on my laptop and I can not connect.

I still can't see my AP though, assume it's also using an unrecognised channel?
