I have seen so many pleas for help on this page and I am impressed with your wisdom. But, I've got a new PPC OS and I am totally flummoxed.

All I want to do is connect to the Internet over thru my netgeat router via my XP computer. I have a Belkin bluetooth adaptor.

The Bluetooth Wizard thingy on the HP can put me into dialup mode without shedding a tear. On the other hand, when I try to connect through a computer connnected to a LAN (the other internet wizard), it's a no go. All I can figure out is that it is trying to connect me through a bluetooth null modem. AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH.

I have looked at the articles on IPAQs and bluetooth, but they seem to be about different systems and different settings.

Has anybody parsed this new system (PPC 2003) yet?

Thanks.

Bruce, although I don't have a Windows Mobile 2003 device to test (yet, apparently will have a demo unit in a few weeks), I think the best start thing you can do is have a look at this troubleshot list.

Most of the problems I've seen are configuration on the desktop/laptop side. And most of the time it's because (for what I've in these forums) is because a personal firewall is blocking communications.

Next big thing to check is the ICS configuration. You say you have a Netgear. Is this configured as 192.168.0.xxx? Can you change your network to use 192.168.1.xxx instead? Is there any other device with 192.168.0.1, which is required by the ICS?

These are the most common problems around here. Once these are sorted, most people report successful connections!

Good luck, and thanks for your comments.

Thanks so much for your help.

No firewall. When I tried to "share" my LAN connections, the system told me there was a problem. The system wasn't able to handle control commands . . . or something to that effect. In any case, I ditched the WiFi network and configured the system without it. Works just fine now.
