Hey all,
I have a desktop with xpsp2 and its BT drivers. The desktop connects to broadband via an adsl modem and i want to know how to connect the laptop to the same internet connection. ie so that my girlfriend can surf at the same time as me!!!
I have very little knowledge of networking and have never set up a wired network so if you could avoid abbreviations it would be appreciated as i am thick!!!!!
All other bluetooth servicesa are working and the 2 devices are paired but that is as far as i can get without help.

Cheers Mike

You can't have your SP2 Bluetooth as a network server. Currently it can only be a client.

You'd need to have a Bluetooth LAN Access Point or a Bluetooth dongle with Widcomm software instead.

Cool, So if i reinstall the software that came with my belkin dongle and followed the instructions for stopping XPs BT software, then i could use my desktop as the host and leave the XP software on the laptop and connect to the internet that way??

Thank very much, I am new to forums but can see how incredible they are!!

Mike

Since you have the two icons, the software is already installed, you shouldn't need to reinstall. Follow the instructions on the first post on this thread to switch from Windows Bluetooth to Widcomm.
