i recently purchased 2 bluetooth dongles model number ES-509 (100m 2.5ghz) aparently from hong kong, They came with software and installed fine. The bluetooth icon in the system tray had the red triangles in and when you click on start using bluetooth a error message appears saying "your bluetooth license does not include use with this bluetooth device.[6]" I typed this message into google and it lead me to a thread on this forum, i have tried all the solutions suggested but to no avail, i have searched for the manufactures web site but they dont appear to have any software for download. Anybody have any idea how i can get these working? I'm lead to believe that it is a problem with windows xp and the device signing, i currently have windows xp with service pack 1.

Any help or suggestions welcomed

Thanks

Karl

Is returning these an option? I'd pay a little more and get a TDK or Bluetake.

I could return them and get a refund but i would still lose out on the cost of postage, the guy is sending some more software but i'm not getting my hopes up that it will work, there must be a way to get these to work, i'm sure its just a software issue.

Are you using this on Windows XP SP2? Have you followed the instructions on the first post in this thread?

I have followed all the steps in that post, When i go to device manager there is no option for "Generic Bluetooth Radio"???? only "ISSC USB Bluetooth Device" I have tried updating the driver for that but it wont let me select a driver from the disk and appears to search the hard disk for a driver instead. I'm still getting the same error everytime. Also to add i only have one bluetooth icon in the system tray aswell which is blue and red in colour.

Dear all,

I have purchased the Same USB BT Dongle last week, an here @ home i was astunished that those damn Widcomm Software is not working, because of a wrong license.dat.

I figured out using the software from http://www.bluesoleil.com/, it works great.... superb piece of SOftware.

Just give it a try ....

But the Bluesoleil is limited as a demo only... What OS are using? Is it Windows XP SP2? If so, have you checked this thread?

I currently do not see there a limitation ...

Im running XP with SP2.

I did not tried the options mentioned in your link, because bluesoleil seems to work fine for me at the moment...

I?m just still trying to connect the PCSuite my SE P910i with my BT PC....

But using fo instances bemused with my p910 works great with winamp 2.9

Thanks for the help, i have tried the bluesoleil and i still get a no license messege but it works, its a bit unstable but working! And the common fix does not work because of the version of driver I have recieved with it, the version I have is WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software 1.4.3 Build 4 rather than WIDCOMM BTW 1.4.2.10 Bluetooth software and i have had no luck in finding anywhere i can download it from.

i have the same problem altho mine came with blue soleil. mine works fine with that but i dont like it. for a start it doesnt work with pcsuite. i checked a site and it says that my issc horus 1002 bt dongle should use either widcomm or bluesoleil but i cant get it to work with widcomm no matter what i try to do. bluesoleil is too limited. i want to enjoy the features on my 6230 and not just use it to file transfer
