Hi,

I have HP iPAQ 3970 Pocket PC with Windows 2002 system, and MSI USB Bluetooth! I want to share internet connection with my Pocket PC.I have cable modem with static IP address! I follow your tutorial but only thing I success is that I connect to BT Network Access! But every time i want to browse internet, message appear : "unable to connect..." or he just start connecting to iRDA (looking for my mobile phone connection)! I know i need to put IP address as it says in tutorial, but where? I have 3 network connections?!

1.Desktop Computer
2.Bluetooth Connection
3.My Cable Modem

If i chage my static IP address of my cable modem, i can't go to the internet.I try with every connection but nothing. I found some tutorial - "if you can't connect to the internet, you must start activesync..." Ok, when I try to click on activesync, message appears : "Device laptop has no serial port services available".Ok, than I look at my laptop bluetooth program, and I make quick connection to serial port...But again the same...!!!!!!!!!!!! My friend told me I need to set up VPN, but I don't know...

YOU ARE MY LAST HOPE!!!!!

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THX

You have to follow this guide.

There's no ActiveSync or VPN involved. Print the page and follow step-by-step. The IP 192.168.0.1 must be entered on the Bluetooth LAN adapter on your computer. You can also enter the ISP's DNS address on that adapter.

If you have this address already in use on your network, then you'll need to either change your network or use a third-party software (like NAT32) for the sharing part.

Also, check if any software firewall on your computer is blocking the Bluetooth communications. This includes the Windows XP SP2 firewall.

Can you tell us what's the IP address on your computer, on your cable-modem, router and any other appliance on this network?

Also, in the last article I pointed there's a tip to download VxUtil to your Pocket PC and use it to PING an Internet host to check if DNS is working or not... Have you done this?

I send e-mail to you with my IP addresses!

YES, I download NetNotify, but even if I make a BT connection, it says it disconnected?!

Thanks... Just your internal IP addresses are ok - no need for the external one :)

Also, you mean VxUtil, not NetNotify, is that right?

The link on this list is for VxUtil. This program will allow you to ping and test your connection. Follow the steps on the list for some basic troubleshooting.

Well, nothing much really. You must follow the two links I've posted before. Step-by-step. The best option is to print the guides and then follow them.
