As a new owner of the Nokia 3650 I am in search of the best choice for a bluetooth handsfree-profile enabled headset. My employment requires that I travel extensively and about 50% of my time is spent on my cell phone. At the top of my list are the following headsets and reservations for each:

Jabra BT200 Freespeak – I have read about problems with boot latency. Are those using the BT200 experiencing latency problems? Otherwise the BT200 seems to be a pretty safe bet. Lowest Price: $55.65

Sony Ericsson HBH-35 – I notice that advanced features like voice-activated dialing are not available for Nokia phones with the HBH-30 and the HBH-60. Is this the case for the HBH-35 as well? Has anyone used these advanced features with the Nokia 3650? Lowest Price: $102.99

Nokia HDW-2 – This seems to be the most feature-laden headset as it allows multiple pairings. However I read lots of reviews noting broken earpieces. Lowest Price: $89.95 - $20.00 Rebate.

Plantronics M3000 – Looks identical to the HDW-2. Boasts 8 hours of talk time (very nice). However, it doesn’t support multiple pairings. Lowest Price: $89.99 (Available for pre-order)

How many of you have used the above headsets? If so, are my concerns off base? Which would be the best headset to purchase?

I can't say one or that, because I haven'tried all... But the ones I tried (Sony Ericsson, Bluetake and Jabra), the Jabra was the most comfortable.

I've tried the HDW-2, HBH-60 and HBH-35. In my opinion, the HBH-35 is the clear winner as a headset for this phone. I also use my mobile heavily for business.

Please note:

HDW-2: Worked great as you'd expect since it's Nokia; however, both ear loops broke in the first three days. I received an exchange and it broke in the first day, so I returned for refund. There are many threads noting this build issue.

HBH-60: Initial performance seemed great; however, the headset could not maintain a connection and dropped calls regularly. Long boot latency. Didn't work well with background noise. Voice dial was not reliable. Talk time not adequate for regular use.

Jabra BT200: Boot latency is too long. Calls went to voice mail before I could answer; therefore not viable for me. See- http://www.infosyncworld.com/reviews/n/3767.html

HBH-35: Works perfectly. Talk time of about 4.5 hours is adequate for heavy use. No latency. Audio is better than handset itself. Voice dial works great. Comfortable design; can be easily worn for hours.

Hope this helps!

I's true HBH-35 is the best. And for all you nay sayers out there who say that the HBH-35 is incompatible with the Nokia 3650 check your Firmware versions again, I think it has to be 2.54 or higher. The headset works like clockwork with my Nokia. Also be sure to let the headset fully charge when you first buy it otherwise the pairing process will not work.

Just to confirm, my 3650 is V 3.16.

Unfortunately, the HBH-60 was tested on 2.54. The HBH-35 was received after my firmware upgrade. There are many threads on the internet noting Bluetooth improvements with the latest version.

Good to hear that others are having success with the headset. It's been about a month and still no problems!!
