Hello people, I'm running Windows XP SP2, before I was running SP1, I was using the Widcomm Bluetooth software, but now it seems to me that Windows XP SP2 Bluetooth is so bad that i miss the Widcomm software, on one post there was instructions to make the Widcomm work in Windows XP SP2, I was so happy that i followed the instructions and came upto the step of Finalization! BUT!!!!! I seem to have a problem now!! I have posted the screenshots!

Screenshot 1:

Screenshot 2:

Screenshot 3:

Screenshot 4:

In Screenshot 4, nothing comes up while there used to be many options i.e. for dial up connections, serial port and some other few choices! So, people please try to help me on this problem. I remember having this problem earlier, but then i don't remember how I had resolved this. Hoping to get a response soon from you folks!

Thanking you,

Never seen this problem before. It looks like some registry stuff gone wrong. Have you tried using a new user (with Administrator rights) to remove, reboot and install the software again?

Did it come frequently on your computer or in other computers? If on your computer, then I say it's a localised problem.

My suggestion is simple: create a new user (Control Panel | Users) and make sure it's an administrator. Reboot, login as the new user, remove the Bluetooth software, reboot, login again as the new user, install the software. Reboot once again and still as the new users configure the Bluetooth software.

You can then see if it works for your usual username...

Hmmm. It must be a program you have installed before, in both your Pcs, that corrupted the registry somehow. Not much you can do without a fresh install in another PC to test and see if it works.

It's a setting issue in the BT settings.
You have to enable BT to see your 3650 and enable to connect.

I think it's under the accessibility menu.

One more advice:

Sending of files from phone to laptop directly via Bluetooth (without using PC suite) failed at times. Always get the error message “Sendind Failed”.
Continue with the steps below to resolve this:
Right-click on Bluetooth icon on systray and Select “Advanced Configuration”.
In Bluetooth Configuration, select “Local Services” Tab.
Select PIM Item Transfer > click on Properties.
Check that in All other types, "Save to Folder" is selected. Then click “OK”.
Try sending files from phone to laptop via BT connection without using PC suite and see if it works.
On desktop, double-click on My Bluetooth Places. Select “View Devices” and see if the phone or other BT devices you wish to send files to are detected. Once detected, select the desired BT device and do a file sending to check that it works.

Hey Mahuhu, thanks for your response. Infact I went through the settings you said. Its already what you told, and my pc is able to find my phone. I tried sending a picture from the pc to the phone, it goes! But, from phone to pc, it doesn't! WHY??? Its makin me upset... Coz I really luv this Widcomm more than the dumb Windows XP SP2 built in stack. Coz in Windows XP, you have to open the Recieve a file window if you want to send the pc something, and its irritating! Widcomm, just send, with ease! Plz help meee!!!

Tnx..

Check that the folder used to receive the files on your PC does exist. If it is there, check security is set in a way to allow all users to access it.

When you created a new user to install the software in the previous steps the system will use the new user's folder - and if the folders are private then you will not be able to send files to your PC when the user logged in is not the owner.

And the folder is under the new user's documents, and the same user used for login?
